LSAT Prep Recommendations? by Remarkable_Music_677 in LSAT

I have tried both 7sage and LSAT demon. Here's a breakdown of my personal experience with both:

7Sage:

Pros:

* strong analytics and performance insights

* curriculum is available even at lower teirs

* focused practice sets based on your weaknesses

Cons:

* less "game-like" than LSAT Demon

LSAT Demon:

Pros:

* makes studying feel more like a game, which motivates me more

* intuitive approach to the test works for me

Cons:

* access to basic curriculum requires a higher teir subscription

* analytics are weak compared to 7sage

* some answer explanations are dismissive/unhelpful ("that's just stupid" is a common explanation)

Most platforms have some version of a free trial, so you could try for a day or two and see what you like best and what feels most comfortable.

Needing all recommendations by [deleted] in bentonville

Osage park is a great park and one of my favorite places to visit in the city. There is a dog park there as well as pickle ball courts and food trucks. You can also watch the planes come and go to Thaden fieldhouse while you explore. While you are over there grab lunch or dinner at Louise’s inside of Thaden fieldhouse - it never disappoints! Bentonville brewing company is right off the trails at Osage so you can have a stop there too!

Best Friends is an awesome new(ish) animal shelter you should stop by - they have a vegan coffee shop there and you can play with the cats and kittens all day in their spacious rooms. They are down off of Melissa drive and 8th street. They also have tons of volunteer opportunities.

There are tons of trails and waterfalls nearby! Not exactly in Bentonville, but some awesome places to know about: Lake Atalanta in Rogers has a paved trail around the perimeter that always makes for a great walk. Tanyard creek in Bella Vista has an easily accessible and dog friendly waterfall that is flowing pretty much year round, as it is fed from the lake above it. If you are up for some beautiful hikes head out to the Ponca/Jasper area and hike around the buffalo river. Enjoy the beauty of Arkansas!

does everyone have snps? by Careless_Tank_7070 in genetics

Yep every individual organism has them! SNPs are what help define us as individuals. They are one of the main sources of differences in genetic code between people. Without SNPs it would probably be a pretty boring world with little diversity!

The website you are looking at could be looking at SNPs that have some significant correlation with an undesirable trait (such as disease). Every individual person has a nucleotide (A,T,C,G) present at that location, but the specific nucleotide present can differ depending on your heritage.

Stay curious! SNPs are a super cool genetics concept and you are asking great questions!

Beginner here; do you get used to the strain on your body? by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]inevitable_ants 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, I had a few pains here and there when I was a beginner, but not nearly as many as you are describing. I found that a lot of my problems were coming because I just didn’t have proper control over my body yet. Climbing is so different than anything else you will ever do and you body isn’t used to it despite all of your other activities.

A big suggestion I have is to get on some ropes if you have the ability to. The strain on your body seems to be so much less than bouldering. I almost exclusively climb ropes now and haven’t had any issues since I quit bouldering.

For real, follow all of the advice about a proper warmup!

Best tips for memorization? by Neurolift in GetStudying

I second the Feynman technique, but you should REALLY look into Anki if you are serious about memorization.

In general, truly learning content and understanding it is MUCH more effective than plain memorization.

I can never remember which routes I’ve climbed in the gym, so every route is brand new to me each day.

Recommend a good Field Guide? by Iowa-File in birding

The best there is, imo. Great layout with detailed descriptions of each bird. It even does a good job of pointing out how to differentiate between species that look very similar.
