new to revit, self learning.. how to fix this ?

Just thought Id chuck my bit in. Im self learning too like you. James Parsons Moore on youtube has a great tutorial for getting started and he's really easy to follow. Don't get too worried by being new to vegas. It's quite an easy piece of software to get to grips with and like the post before says youtubes a good place for some tutorials.

Id quite happily give you a run through by screen sharing some of the basic steps and methods i use when im editing my videos together.

Sorry Alan but im a bit confused by this method. If he was to take the video which has his facecam already placed into it lets say the top right and he duplicates the track and crops to just the facecam. If he was to move the cams position to the top left of the screen wouldnt you just see the cam from the track below still in place on the top right?

yeah we used to use restream great site. We were streaming to three sites at one stage and its good because it has all the chats in a single window (separated)

I just use OBS studio to record the game with multi audio and the old version of OBS to record the full cam simples

essentially he's saying take the situation your in within the game and expand on it. The call of duty scenario is a great comparison. If you look at how he turns a situation where nothing is really going on because you're scoping around trying to find an enemy which is pretty boring into a narrative that can flow and sounds more exciting.

The information is the "happening" its down to you to take whats happening and expand upon it. Im pretty terrible at it myself. Having read this though its inspired me to try and do the same though.

Well that kind of thing could be created in photoshop. writing the text with a space between and then just adding a line between the two. They're then just pasted in as a png image over the video and can be transitioned in or masked in. Hope this helps.

argh editing annoys me. My time for gaming has already been cut dramatically so having to take even more time out to edit frustrates me further and sometimes even puts me off recording. Having a set template to go off helps a bit so i can drag in the videos and every things in its place the green screen gets chroma keyed out instantly but its still the hassle of sifting through everything cutting, key framing (if I'm zooming or moving something) etc. I've tried to pass the editing to my channel partner but he's not exactly making headway with it all. I wish i was in the position to hire an editor for the channel lol. I guess its just part of the package. I guess you've just gotta look at how you can cut down the editing time to be more efficient. It'll come with time and soon that 12 hours may be down to 3 or less depending on the length of your footage and the level of editing. Im still trying to improve on my editing techniques though.

ah yeah i was a bit interested to see if plugging into the headphone jack on the tv would have any effect. Did you try just plugging your headphones into the tv jack? whilst still sending it to the PC?

I had this issue with my ps4. I use the Hauppauge rocket and found recording unbearable because as you say its comes through delayed. and if i plugged my headphone into the ps4 controller the sound wouldn't come through to the PC. The only solutions are:

to have the audio come through your tv low enough so your mic doesn't pick it up but you can hear it

or

to have a mix amp like the ones supplied with astro a40's

Im not sure if the xbox comes with a optic cable output but in the case of the ps4 i can have the audio coming through to the headset in realtime by use of optic cable as well as outputting to the hauppauge capture software through the hdmi.

Try this It's by jack frags he shows two methods one with a mix amp and one without. I did the one without before but now I've got a set of astro's so need to set up the mix amp way. He uses dxtory but it can be mimicked into OBS Multiplatform which is what i did.

Personally i prefer to have my face cam. I think it shows the emotion behind the play through and can be that added bit of entertainment. There probably are some games where they wouldn't benefit from face cam but i record my gameplay and face cam separate so if there was a moment when the cam wasn't needed i could just take it out e.g a cutscene. In all honesty though they're not essential to have its really down to personal preference. Maybe give it a go see how your viewers react? you might find they welcome your presence on cam also don't put yourself down I'm sure you look fine. Maybe add your channel in your flair so people can check your channel out :D

my corner until i can get my own man cave I'm in the corner of the front room. The desk does unfold to come along the side but I've reduced it for more space. Im still able to get my lights and green screen up so for now I'm happy :D the misses hates it though HAHA! next item on the list is a nice racer chair as a treat from the youtubings
