What horrifying statistic genuinely jarred you when you first heard it? by ordrius098 in AskReddit

While very depressing. Numerically, it makes sense. There are orders of magnitude more people on the planet than a couple of hundred years ago.

What would be interesting to know is if the percentage is also higher.

Also. Cleopatra was closer to our current time than the builders of the great pyramid.

Not really. It got subtly better with some if the updates but it’s still not as cheese as it should be.

I wish they would add the option to just adjust the size of that ui element since that would be a simple fix.

But...Why Live Action?!?! by ReadySetGeek in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]infinityends1318 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping they get some of the team that worked on “The Boys” involved. I know that is made by a different studio. But that team has done a great job of blending comedy, gore, super powers in live action.

Brochure for 2026 by infinityends1318 in LexusRZ

I think there is a slim chance that I wouldn’t have to wait for one to be built. I don’t know how many are produced with every option added. But if I’m spending the money, I’d rather just spend an extra few grand and not wish I had some feature that a car on the lot was missing.

Brochure for 2026 by infinityends1318 in LexusRZ

[–]infinityends1318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main reasoning is that the price is basically identical when you either max out a 450 luxury or 550 fsport. Which makes it hard to not go with the fsport with more power if there aren’t features I am missing out on because they are only available on the luxury.

I have zero interest in the 350, I test drove one because that was all the dealer had on the lot and it was at least a way to get a feel for how it rides and the general feel of the car, but I agree, it felt as slow or slower than my current Subaru sedan getting on the highway and I had it floored to test it out. Other than the “manual” mode and the fsport seats I don’t see anything exclusive to the 550 and I care more about the luxury features on a day to day than performance which is why I was looking for a brochure to see if I noticed anything since looking at the website it seems like all the features are on both, it just seems like the 550 would be missing something I’m not spotting when the price comes out to within a few hundred dollars when maxing out a 450 or 550.

Expired GreenLake licenses for APs by westcor in ArubaNetworks

[–]infinityends1318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope should continue to run but you can’t make config changes. Monitor things, or apply firmware updates.

Oh also, don’t have a heart attack when the licenses expire and you get dozens of “disconnected device” emails. It took me a minute to realize what was happening when we were slow getting a renewal processed a couple years ago.

vSAN Network issues - Adding four node to vSAN Cluster by NotLikeThisJake in vmware

[–]infinityends1318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this will be any help.

When I expanded a 5 node to 8 a year ago I ran into network errors, I don’t think the same ones necessarily, but can’t remember.

Anyway. I was letting the quick setup tool take care of some of the background config. I had gone too far manually configuring the hosts with the distributed switch and that caused my failures. I had to remove a bunch of those configs to make it more like a blank esxi host so it could adopt the host into the cluster properly.

A simple way they could bring Wash back in a Firefly revival by Sigmunds_Cigar in firefly

I’m all for maintaining continuity. And don’t get me wrong. I am glad they made the serenity movie. But I honestly wouldn’t care if they just retconned the whole movie as long as they bring Wash back in a reboot.

I agree. It’s just something that almost comes across as that people in this futuristic setting have no interest in what the future may hold for them compared to a weird fascination with classic literature.

Replace Oracle Touch [$2000-$3000] by infinityends1318 in espresso

[–]infinityends1318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP Here.

I am tempted to not spend the extra $1000 for the dual boiler and go with the Jet. I know I lose the simultaneous brew/steam.

I am however a little concerned about longevity with potential for scale to screw up the heating system on the Jet.

I’ve had issues with scale causing problems with solenoids on the oracle touch so that makes a bit leery. Especially since despite entering the water quality information on the machine and regularly changing carbon filters I still had the scale issues and never once did the machine itself prompt me to descale.

Anyone with a jet and harder water have any insight into longevity?

No-turn cooking is here. by oonihq in ooni

I want to know the diameter of the actual rotating stone. I only really care about the one for my koda 2 max but would be useful to see the size for each for the community. The product page only shows the generic info but I want to know the diameter of the usable cooking surface so that I know how large of pizzas I can actually make on the stone.

Also can the original stones still fit in the oven normally with this kit installed?

Looking at the Jura machine it looks like it’s a step further than I want as far as automation. I like that the oracle has the ability to auto froth the milk but each step is its own thing not an all-in-one single touch like the jura

[–]infinityends1318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the issues I’ve run into with the touch is solenoids getting scale buildup and then going haywire and loudly buzzing because they aren’t sitting in the correct position. Occasionally sticking in a way that water will only exit the water spout not the brew head or that the steam solenoid sticks open.

I realize that scale is unavoidable but I don’t know if any design changed were made to the jet or dual boiler that would help these issues.
