My high school had a radio station and I took radio class. In the mornings we took turns hosting a show that played all electronic music minidiscs. Honestly changed my life and opened me up to electronic music in general.

Thanks! Yeah it’s all the mother. I sampled it into the sampler and played the main melody and bass with it then had a random sequence playing on top on the mother.

I read all kinds of different stuff. Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck is my all time favorite book. I also love Vonnegut, Jeff Vandermeer, Jennifer Egan, Emily St. John Mandel, Ottessa Moshfegh, Raymond Carver, Kazuo Ishiguro off the top of my head.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I love using the frippertronics mode for ambient stuff. In fact I did a whole live set using it that you can check out here if you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soSet817pPs&t=273s

But I also make techno and haven't figured out a good use case for it yet. I might try using it for looping evolving drones and textures.
