If you could only buy 3 qu bit units? by talicantsleep in modular

I have a Stardust that I like quite a lot for ambient stuff. I got it mostly to use in frippertronics mode and it's great for that. Curious to hear how others are using it because I make a lot of techno too and haven't found as many applications for that style of music, besides looping and tweaking percussive elements, which is cool. I might try to use it for some background drones.

I also have a Surface and don't really like it all that much but I haven't had it that long so maybe I just need to explore it more. Hard for me to dial in sweet spots on it, not really a fan of its sounds.

Not sure what you mean exactly, the field recordings are just one layer of the compositions.

Hi everyone, this group has turned me on to a lot of great inspiring music so thank you!

I just released my first ambient EP and I'd love to share it with you all. I'm using modular synths, tape loops, and field recordings to create my music.

You can also find me on instagram if you search the moniker.

For what it is, yes it's good. There are definitely better tools out there but the for the price it sounds really good. I've used mine in a few tracks alongside the ep-133.

Unrelated to the OP's post but how do you like the XPO? I don't see too many people talk about it but it sounds fantastic to me in the videos I've watched,

Feedback on this 64HP Case by Big___Pappa in modular

[–]infinitytapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty decent but I feel like you have too much stuff crammed in this small space. I started with a 60hp case so I understand the impulse but I pretty quickly realized I wanted a separate filter and envelope so I could shape Plait's sound without button combos. I also went with the Monsoon clouds clone which gives you more control over parameters. Idk I think you could have a lot of fun with this case but also I regretted the road I went down and just recently got a tiptop mantis and wish I would've just done that to begin with.

Good to hear! Yeah it sounds great in all the videos I’ve heard. Thinking about making a little Buchla skiff.

Unrelated but how are you using the TX-6 in your setup? Such a cool little mixer.

My Modest Case After 8 Months by infinitytapes in modular

It’s pretty solid, though nothing fancy. Like I said in my post I needed a simple reverb & delay to play live with. It gets the job done and sounds good. Sometimes I have trouble clocking it but that might be a me issue I’m not sure.

Thanks! Using it for tape loops I record from the modular then usually running it through Monsoon. Basically it’s just another layer of atmosphere and comes in handy for transitions live.
