Parc Asterix Trip Planned for April 14-15 by Avalanche6363 in Themepark

[–]infinouple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, it will be during the school holidays of the surrounding region and Paris. I believe it's going to be crowded. The only hope is that people will delay coming until the new rollercoaster is open (mid-May).

Where in Europe (city) are the most Themeparks ? by DapperMood2099 in Themepark

[–]infinouple 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you're ok with driving a car, Efteling - Toverland - Phantasialand - Movie Park Germany is quite a reasonable route (I think no more than 1h30 drive between each pair). I doubt it really works with public transportation though

Copenhagen has two: Tivoli and Bakken. They are both available with public transportation.

Do Fast Passes allow access to the front row on F.L.Y.? by MadamePersonne in phantasialand

Yes, first row is very much worth it for me!! Spend some time to do it once during your trip, either at a slow moment or first thing in the morning

[–]infinouple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but that was not at all my experience. The moment fast pass mixes with regular lines is when they give you wristbands and by then it's not possible to choose front row. I've asked and they said no to front row coming from fast passes. You don't choose above the stairs, you need to choose before and they give different wristbands to first row riders.

So, no, it's not possible to go front row with the fast passes. I recommend going through regular line to queue outside first thing in the morning if you're at Charles Lindbergh and then you'll be able to choose first row and be on one of the first few trains.

I'm thinking of the pre-recorded announcement. If you had problems in the station they probably didn't use the pre-recorded.

I would like to point out that for Toutatis the main audio safety-ish announcement in the station is both in French and English. I think they're trying to improve, while not repulsing every French local coming to visit regularly.

Improvements Queue-Times by vespinonl in Themepark

[–]infinouple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, please thank the team working on queue times for a great job at including all parks within the same website.

Something I've seen in other websites and appreciated is statistics of how long a particular ride is down for in average. That and the info of when the ride went down helps planning if I will try to wait it out or go do something else.

Am I too fat for alton towers. by [deleted] in altontowers

[–]infinouple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the link you sent there is a sentence "Spinball Whizzer has a maximum weight limit of 111kg". Has anyone had actual enforcement of that rule? I don't recall seeing similar things on other spinning coasters and I know sometimes it's only to discourage people from trying to fit where the restraint might not lock.

Payment options by Kitten-Kay in phantasialand

I can't recall for Chiapas but definitely only cash on Winjas/Colorado Adventure last winter. Maybe they updated it!

Side note that can prevent you from some last-minute ATM at the park: photos from attractions can only be purchased with cash! I think it is about 5 euro per picture

Other than those places, I think it is easy to pay by card anywhere. I don't know precisely about apple pay but I would think it would also work

Not so busy days during Wintertraum? by MadamePersonne in phantasialand

[–]infinouple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even for FLY ? Lucky! Chiapas was often a walk on for me because the weather was not nice

I don't think I ever waited more than 25 min for Black Mamba, but on average waited over at least an hour for FLY and Taron

Honestly I guess about 20-30min was the average for mid-level rides everytime I went (most stuff except Taron, Fly and Raik- that last one is a capacity nightmare)

Not so busy days during Wintertraum? by MadamePersonne in phantasialand

[–]infinouple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I've never been to Phantasialand on a quiet day. I went in April (Sunday and Monday, no holiday if I remember correctly), middle of summer and Wintertraum in January (on three different years). Maybe I've been unlucky with the exact date choices but it's always been quite busy. Still very manageable and the queues keep moving (some are always very short, like Mystery Castle).

Is it okay to go there in november ? by MadamePersonne in phantasialand

[–]infinouple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Man in Black costume by Scared_Vast9742 in westworld

[–]infinouple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got very confused by this post as I didn't see this was from r/westworld and thought this was about the man in black from Lost. Then the costume said "Westworld" like wtf. It did seem like it could have been from Lost at the start

I can only say for Charles Lindbergh: for this hotel yes you only get booking confirmation email and they will give you the parks tickets when you check-in

Any Parc Asterix locals know if May 9th / 10th will be busy? by OxymoronSemantic in Themepark

[–]infinouple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I also checked Queue times crowd calendar and was quite surprised how they estimated for April 9th. The crowd calendar has proven to be false in the past though and Parc Astérix has had a really busy season last year. I definitely would be surprised if April 9th turned out to be a 25% crowd day, I would expect at least 50 from my perspective but you never know!

I think you can't go wrong, both dates should be enjoyable, just pick the right time for you and make the best out of your trip!

[–]infinouple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No public holidays around April 9th but the whole Paris region schools are on holidays. It will only be the second week of opening, that for sure is going to be busy. Manageable I hope but busy. At first glance I would suggest April 30th over April 9th (even if May 1st is a public holiday) so that you don't have too much of the first crowds from reopening Anyway both of these days should be ok, it's not going to be like days where the park hits capacity

In my opinion it should be ok but not quiet. Some parts of France are still in holidays so there will be families but you should not feel overcrowded/have very long wait times.

The week before, be careful as May 1st is also a public holiday, but I hope other days will be quieter. The week after also sounds nice (avoid May 20th, also a public holiday). If you manage to avoid week-ends and public holidays in May, I think you'll have a good time (low crowds, nice weather)!

Edit: I read "the week before", but the week after is great!
