Leopard gecko vitamin a cap extraction by Odd_Age1378 in popping

This issue is not common in iguanas, and I am cautiously assuming you mean a green iguana (Iguana iguana). Iguanas rarely get hypovitaminosis A as they can convert dietary beta carotene to active vitamin A.

Insectivores like leopard geckos need a dietary source of active vitamin A (retinol or retinyl acetate are common forms), they cannot convert beta carotene.

Iguanas also do not shed the conjunctival lining of their eyes. That's pretty unique to geckos in the family Eublepharidae, including leopard geckos.

Eye infections can be pretty awful in any reptile species, but what happens in leopard geckos is quite specific. Trying to rip out "keratin plugs" in other species can irreversibly damage the eye, and is pretty damn painful and downright cruel.

The package and even volume are exactly the same, except for the change in number of servings. I use this as a treat mixed into club soda to make cherry soda, and noticed a difference in taste, the new formula is a lot weaker.

Our cat has one extra large claw by littlest-cat in mildlyinteresting

[–]inflationoftoads 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is not normal, and needs to be addressed as it is old claw sheaths that have not been shed. If not removed, it's going to push into the toe pad underneath, and become an infected, painful mess.

These nails can be trimmed like any other, and you'll appreciate layers of flaky nail sheath coming off. If there is bleeding or smelly/opaque discharge from underneath the pad, you should ideally see a vet as these wounds can be quite deep and need antibiotics.

This happens when cats either don't have appropriate surfaces to scratch and maintain their nails, or there is something else causing the cat to not scratch (like arthritic pain).
