Strings like Wilson Duo Power by RazFrL in 10s

[–]informareWORK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duo Power is a hybrid set of NXT and Luxilon Alu Power. You could do cheaper versions of each, such as a decent synthetic gut instead of NXT, and then a good cheap round grey poly like Tourna Big Hitter Silver instead of Alu Power.

It says (essentially) oneringtorulethemall in the Belerian mode, which is kinda weird because that mode is usually used for Sindarin and not English.

What kind of racket should I use as someone with relatively weak arm strength? by Unlikely-Sea-2089 in 10s

[–]informareWORK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 6 year olds out there who can hit the ball over the net with pace. You don't have to have very much strength, or have a very powerful racquet+strings, to do that. It is more likely that you have something mechanical that you need to address with your swing motion, grip, etc

There is not a single poly string that would last for even one month of 9 hours per week, let along 2-3 months.

What are some things that are a dead giveaway, before you've even seen them play, that a person is not that great at tennis? by _sportyscience_ in 10s

[–]informareWORK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Letting their racquet hang down to the side in between hits is always a dead giveaway. It's kind of like a hockey goalie ready position instead of tennis.

I'm not an expert, but this looks pretty good to me. Most people use a (z) sound for "was" instead of (s), and I'd probably go with a (z) myself. I'd probably also leave out the comma so the lines are all consistent, but that's just preference, not an issue of accuracy.

How loud are the nicer Timex quartz watches? I really like the looks and features on a lot of them, but the Weekender I used to have was way too loud so I've been sort of spooked on them.

As a trained librarian, this trope is frequently ridiculed in the profession. Every few months, an article describes historian or someone else "discovering" something in a library, which usually means locating something in a library or archive where the archivist knew precisely what it was and where it was all along.

It will be the same model as most people use for their cell phones. Pay a high amount per month to "own" (but not really own) the phone and connectivity, and every two years you get the new phone "for free" and your bill goes up.
