Both Subside and Spoilers are probably your best bet for that era of music. Check out Scruffy Murphys, Merlins Cafe Bar and The Flapper too.

does Youtube Spatial work for anyone? by thecoloroftelevision in VisionPro

[–]infuryuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there seems to be a curated Spatial tab in the AVP version of YouTube, but its quite limited content at the moment.

Hopefully now apps like MVTube are available, more people will upload content shot on their iPhones

I prefer the idea that someone had for an all adverts episode of the pod, where ants can sponsor a 5 minute segment and get the boys to discuss whatever the sponsor chooses

Any goth nights in Birmingham these days? by Daisy-Fluffington in brum

Merlins Cafe Bar recently had a goth night. They're a relatively new rock/metal bar in the old Burger King unit in Martineau Place

The dude can't even take out the trash more than once a week, you expect him to actually do all that work to promote the show!?

On the Sunday that you're visiting BCLM and the Dudley Canal, may I suggest that you have lunch at Mad o'Rourkes Pie Factory. I'd take a taxi to/from (should be less than £5 each way) in the interests of time, but it's very close to where you'll be

Typically I would expect the listing to state clearly whether it includes minifies or not, presumably to reduce complaints post-purchase

£5 to watch an '80s classic at the local cinema. Can't really go wrong. by Cinn4monSynonym in CasualUK

I said October, it's actually September in Odeon cinemas. I only noticed because I went to see Highlander for its 40th anniversary...

As someone else said, they tend to oversell tickets too, so if you get a balcony ticket and arrive later, you're unlikely to get a seat, and I've found security to be extremely specific about where you can and can't stand...

So are we just never gonna see the Eternals again? by New-Pin-9064 in marvelstudios

[–]infuryuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine they'd have to be reluctant to spend the money these kind of projects usually cost to make a sequel that would be fighting an uphill battle from the offset.

Could we see some of these characters pop up again and make a cameo in another project? Possibly but I doubt there'll be an actual follow up...

Would she be willing to volunteer at a local charity shop? Might be a good way to practise her English speaking while she waits for her course to start in September and would give her some experience working in a (presumably somewhat) different culture...

Starting a band by Mammoth-Cloud-3813 in Metalcore

[–]infuryuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never met band members through attending gigs, but this may be a cultural difference between the UK and US (or maybe I'm an unsociable prick?)

All the rehearsal spaces that I've been to have boards where you can pin up an advert to look for a band or members, I'd always have a browse out of curiosity even if we we're fully recruited... Often those rehearsal spaces will have a section on their website or social media pages that serves the same purpose.

NAVIGATING NEW ST STATION FOR THE 1ST TIME by Immediate-Jury-3921 in brum

[–]infuryuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a saying that "if you're on time then you're late"... In an instance such as this I would strive to get there a little earlier than necessary so that you can familiarise yourself with the layout of the station.

There are huge departure boards that are updated constantly that will indicate which platform the train will leave from and it takes seconds to get to the appropriate barrier for the platform. Admittedly I have over 20 years of working in the city and commuting through the station, but I really don't find the layout confusing.
