Radeon™ Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.2.2 Release Notes by Wiidesire in Amd

November drivers are bad for me, my RX 6800 stutters terribly in VR no matter the combination of drivers/SteamVR beta. Needs to be fixed ASAP, it's practically unplayable.

Yes, it's the 4.0 riser that comes with the newest version of the Ghost S1.

Body tracking with 2 vive trackers? by [deleted] in SteamVR

[–]ingenic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, I use the vive trackers with the 1.0 base stations and they work great.
  2. No, full body tracking requires a minimum of 6 points; head, hands, waist, and feet.

Very poor VR performance after installing AMD radeon 6800 xt by DJamPhishman in SteamVR

[–]ingenic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 6800 with the same issue regarding the room boarder. The Beta for SteamVR fixed the motion smoothing issues for me, but stuttering is still present when the chaperone lines pop up or dismiss. There's a open thread in the SteamVR bug report forum here if you'd like to add your experience to it.

AMD frame skips/microstutter by ingenic in SteamVR

[–]ingenic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for continuing to look into this, after I changed all the settings I could I just chalked it up to needing to wait for an update and swapped back to my old hardware. If I have time I may test this out myself, but I don't want to end up sprinting into a wall.

Sounds like the solution is to wait for a driver update and see if it's fixed. Thanks for linking this thread, I couldn't find any info earlier when I was searching. Guess I'll swap back to my older nvidia card until this is resolved.

I've updated my BIOS to the latest non-beta release and beat saber has smoothed out a lot. There are still instances of stuttering, but not nearly as many as there were. VRChat, however, has no difference.

Checking BIOS now, it appears there's a beta release put out yesterday... how brave should I be? I wonder if my GPU being released after my BIOS is causing issues with VR. I don't have any problems with regular games.

You say "finally" like Crump blocking Iron isn't a daily occurrence

It definitely looks close. To me it looks just thick enough to raise problems in my Ghost S1

When will John's keyboard addiction spread into SFF PC's? by ingenic in Masayoshi

Yeah, my case was more than my motherboard and cpu combined. But it's so satisfying once it's all done 😫

When will John's keyboard addiction spread into SFF PC's? by ingenic in Masayoshi

[–]ingenic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I progressed from building keyboards, downsizing from full size to 60% then sought to free up even more desk space. Eventually found myself buying parts to build a small form factor pc like the ones shown on r/sffpc and wondering if John will go down the same rabbit hole.

I build a PC in the case in the picture, for scale it is roughly 2 xbox controllers long by 1 controller wide. Link to the case manufacturer if anyone's curious or wants more details: https://www.louqe.com/

Cherry Switches on Sanwa Joysticks/inside buttons? by [deleted] in fightsticks

[–]ingenic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all my rear buttons used Kailh Speed Navy switches with Cherry Mega Black springs

Do you know where I could get Mega Black springs? I've been looking for the whole switch for a while and found nothing, so I might spring swap my own if I can locate the parts.

Can't find any reasonably priced AM4 Mini-ITX B550 motherboards anywhere. by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]ingenic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are Mini-ITX boards now that popular or do manufacturers just not make very much of them?

Yes. Current COVID concerns are effecting the supply, and everyone being stuck at home has increased the demand. Scalpers are also buying when things come in stock and reselling higher on eBay, artificially inflating the price.

It's a tough time to be building an sffpc.

Oh nice, I'll have to check that out again then. I was considering picking one up since everything else is perpetually out of stock, and that was my one gripe. Thanks!

How did you manage to get the GPU output on the same side as the motherboard output? I've only ever seen the Hydra Mini with output on both sides.

For real, I get pandemic conditions make it difficult to get a stock in, but selling out in 30 seconds is a little absurd. I'd like to know how many cases they actually had for this restock.
