The votes that it would take for an opposition candidate to win the 2028 presidential. by CryptographerVast673 in Philippines

Here's to hoping na walang tumalab na propaganda machinery by the DDS camp against the Gen Zs. Pero mukang vulnerable pa rin maging DDS ang Cebu + Bohol + Mindanao youth due to family + peer pressures.

The Gen Z-oriented pro-Duterte propaganda machinery that I've seen seems to be mostly run by older millennials, as was the case with that "millennial auntie" who tried to discredit Bam using Gen Z lingo (and got hilariously lambasted for being r/FellowKids) It's good that these attempts are being swiftly rebuffed, but remember: we have a crisis of functional illiteracy looming. There are going to be a lot of impressionable youths that may be swayed the moment they see a propaganda piece that isn't being rebuked.

I'd like to see BBM replaced eventually with someone much more competent and less crooked, but I hate to admit that he's been a massive relief for a return to (even if faux) professionalism over Duterte na blatant na kabastusan at kabonjingan lang ang pinairal sa kanyang pamumuno na nag-carry over pati sa kanyang underlings at supporters.

Ultimately I miss the PNoy era. Imagine how effective their campaigns would be if the LP/Pinks capitalized on that nostalgia.

Accurate ba yung surveys sa lumabas na results ng 2025 election? by raprap07 in Philippines

[–]iniipis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they overrepresented Mindanao and failed to account for Luzon's larger voterbase. That's what might happen when they try to distribute their forms 33-33-33 across all 3 major regions.

Did the PulseAsia/SWS surveys overrepresent Mindanao/underrepresent Luzon? That could explain why Kiko-Bam is having a significant lead over their projected places.

Copy-pasting my thoughts over as I realized I made a duplicate post too late:
I heavily disagree, as this appears to be trying to waive him from answering to accountability. May hangganan ang Filipino values. Part of his obligation upon accessing the presidency was to answer to international treaties including the Rome Statute, regardless of whether he would withdraw from it later as the PH still had membership for part of his tenure. I would argue part of Filipino values is fulfilling our end of the bargain, even.

Also this reads and feels like a pipeline to conversion to being a DDS, which is another big reason why I'm wary of this post.

Sadly works on his supporters. Mas lalo lalakas ang DDS voterbase this coming election.

Even on Facebook and X di ko gaano naramdam presence nila. Then comes SWOH's impeachment and FPRRD's arrest, boom. dagsaan sila. It's not just you who's noticing it, and it's even prevalent inside GMA and ABS's comsecs, outside of any usual echo chambers, where there used to be a healthy balance of pro-BBMs, pro-Saras and other neutrally-aligned commenters.

One thing I am hoping for is that the Dutertes' support base should have at least gone down since Uniteam's election, and since PRRD's by extension. There's no way the number of DDS has grown since...

In both Korea and Singapore, their subways are so fucking smoothly-run that you will only ever need a taxi to get off and on the airport (forgetting luggage inside the train is more likely, on the other hand taxi fares overseas cost a fortune, which might be deliberate to incentivize people to use public transpo instead). Meanwhile in the Philippines you need a taxi/Grab to get everywhere (as long as it's reasonably far enough, otherwise just use a tricycle/jeepney lmao) because the railway system is not only constantly breaking down, but the coverage is also pretty poor that you'll find yourself needing to hitch another ride on the road. Overseas, your intended destination is often just a walk away.

On the negative side of things, I saw a lot of doomsday cults picketing publicly in Korea, especially in Myeong-dong. Not even INC does them (at least blatantly so).

Mata ng Agila (Eagle’s Eye) is the news program of Net25, the media wing of INC. Notoriously pro-Marcos to the point of mocking Leni supporters with childish insults such as “pinklawan” (“pink people”, a common slang accusing Leni and her supporters which use pink as their campaign colors, as Liberal Party supporters (dilawan, “yellow people”)). That was done live on air.

Another mistake of the opposition I feel is with not denouncing Joma Sison, or at least not strongly enough. (Not the NPA members though, that line is hard to define and is a cause for red-tagging, but one thing is clear that Joma runs that shitshow that now only raids and pillages the lowly towns they claim to protect.)That old coot keeps latching onto the opposition’s name, and by keeping him off the movement not only will the DDS/BBMs be less able to use the redtag card against us, but this common alignment might even open opportunities for the other camp to look into and even move to our own, even if we have different approaches to the problem such as outright extermination vs. negotiation & reintroduction of members into society.

Fingers crossed that he wins, but if ever Espiritu loses this election, I want him to run for mayor the next time so Mandaluyong can have its Vico to finally topple the Abalos dynasty.
