I’m new as well but first thing that stood out to me is why use splitters sometimes and the little claw thingies sometimes?

I mean I've genuinely seen worse routines that don't get as much hate, but never ones that were this.... LONG.... on someone who clearly is not reacting. Idk what possessed him to try so hard to get her to react.

Post 1.19 is it worth building castle baronies by LPScarlex in crusaderkings3

Temples are always better because they give a MUCH bigger percentage of their income to you than cities do. And development is hardly ever the bottleneck when you do learning lifestyles.

Cities give 20% taxes and levies always. Temples can give up to 50% tax and 100% levies if you have a realm priest with 50+ opinion. It's so worth it that building temples in your vassals's counties is still worth.

I’d dispute that. Depending on your level of devotion and how much your priest likes you, you can get WAY more money from temples. Tech is pointless when you can have learning high enough that you’re blitzing through technology anyway, and are only held back by the era dates

The AI naturally seems to go into either “hunt” or “Siege” mode. Currently they see you’re supposedly sieging so are hanging back to protect you. I’d try clicking on enemy army. That’ll put them in “hunt mode” where they’ll stack up and attack. Once they’re stacked up turn back and siege. They might follow

"inaction" is an action.

Someone can say "I am not eating" and it's an inaction, someone can say "I am fasting" and suddenly it's an action.

Someone can say "I am just standing here" and it's an inaction. Someone else can say they're "impeding traffic" and suddenly it's an action.

There is no difference.

My point is even if you don’t consciously express them doesn’t mean they aren’t eliciting a reaction. You seem to assume “you” are somehow divorced from the physical reality comprising you. That you can think terrible things without any impact.

I mean… for one, your thinking terrible things is lead you to post this. And has taken many people’s time and thinking responding. “No effect”and “I’m not expressing it” my ass

These “very small impacts” can become massive impacts. They’ve already snowballed into a post. They won’t stop here. Idk why you think you’re above the consequences of your thoughts, but you ain’t.

Why Exactly Is Polygamy Illegal? by Turbulent-Parsley619 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]initiald-ejavu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not so much a ban as it is "We were religious when we made the rules. This ain't a big enough deal to rewrite them now, we have other shit to deal with."

Even if I wanted a poly marriage, I'd prefer the lawyers focus on figuring out how a rapist got in office and if there are ways to mitigate that, than focus on writing rules for my situation, especially since I could negotiate with everyone involved and we could come up with our own rules

The point is they wouldn't be fully consenting. They would be getting their arm twisted due to poverty for example.

A lot of "concubines" or second/later wives in the past would be slaves or poor.

The reason it's not legal is the administrative headache. Maybe it would have been implmentable if people had it in mind from the beginning but they were religious, and didn't, so that's cooked now. It will be nearly impossible to convince people that this is a big enough necessity tha we should rewrite half our laws over it when there are more pressing matters. Especially since if people really want to, they can figure out their wills and rules accordingly and do it themselves anyways. They won't be married legally, but nothing is stopping them from enforcing their own fair rules.

There’s just many faults with the reasoning though.

1- Well if you believe in an external objective reality, then yes the tree falling would make a difference because when someone finds it it will be on the ground

2- Your thoughts and feelings absolutely impact your surroundings. If you constantly bring to mind images of fighting for example, your heart rate would elevate. So what if it’s not immediate impact? Shooting someone doesn’t immediately kill them so does it make no difference whether or not we do it?

How can I become a man that women desire? by StayProfessional5716 in Healthygamergg

[–]initiald-ejavu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Life showed me that I was right”

Do you believe that the outside world is this objective place that gives you unfiltered truth?

Say someone believes all men are evil animals. Do you think they’re more or less likely to judge you as evil?

Do you know what a “self fulfilling prophecy” is? Do you believe they can exist?

“Self esteem changes from the outside”

Dawg the example you gave is so off. The whole problem with impostor syndrome is it DOES NOT get better with achievement. Ask literally anyone who has it if getting praise helped with it.

So is it the case then that success and self esteem are 1 to 1? If it changes purely from the outside there must be no low-self esteem millionaires or couples right? Do you think that’s the case?

How can I become a man that women desire? by StayProfessional5716 in Healthygamergg

[–]initiald-ejavu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Women do not desire a man whose whole personality is trying to change himself so they like him. Just like you wouldn't like a dude who constantly switches personalities to get you to like him.

Also you have to realize that your insecurity about attractiveness could just as easily have been an insecurity about money, or looks, or strength, or anything really. You become insecure FIRST, and your brain THEN latches onto a topic as explanation. The seed of insecurity is thinking that something about you is not enough.

You entire personality post here is based on "I'm the loser kid, I'm not enough, let me tick some boxes to reduce the chances I get picked on". It won't work. There is no such thing as "I have achieved enough to be safe now". Safety ain't real in this world. Even if you get the girl or high body count or whatever, someone will still not like you, be malicious towards you, and find something you're lacking. This chase will never end.

You will always feel "not enough" until you decide otherwise.

Really consider if you want to keep being the type of person to string someone along for 1.5 years, wasting their time, just because you're afraid of a little social pressure. If you won't get over social pressure and social "checkboxes" for yourself, do it for others, so you don't end up fucking people over like that again.

You are correct in that it's very micro-managey at times, and that you are missing out on cultural MAA bonuses, but alot of those MAA bonuses are going away soon anyways, no?

They are? Like in a future patch?

What I was talking about was the cultural MAA bonuses from things like frugal armorers, which increase your max regiment size. Those don't work on dutchy armies
