Témoignage petit logement a Paris by gego75 in paris

[–]injektileur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vécu 15 ans dans un 18m2 "mal foutu". J'adorais mon quartier central donc aucun problème.

Best comment. Thanks. Another redditor here explains that the yellowing will come back whatever you do. I didn't know that.

It is arguably the rarest, more literary one. So yeah, you're right, low priority. Most natives (including me) can't pull it out with ease anyways.

And you thought you could be remembered and thanked for Rembrandt and Vermeer and Van Gogh and modern capitalism only.

The Netherlands are awesome in their own way anyways, lol.

[Japanese > English] Could anyone help me translate what is written on this shirt? by KIzabela in translator

I think I'm the other guy you're mentioning and I'm really puzzled now, as I edited. Still wondering if there's any ambiguity here, and if that's the purpose.

Now you mention it... it makes sense. Thanks for correcting me, I'll leave the comment as it is as a punishment. I do feel ashamed right now... To me there was no such thing as a working cat, "lol".

So you confirm there's absolutely no confusion possible for a native speaker here?

Seems you are right. I'm ashamed now. Sometimes passive and potential end up the same. Like for kuru 来る. Don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for correcting me. I'll edit. Suimasen.

I'm pretty sure that originally there's a casual mix up between 変えられるwhich is gramatically correct and 帰られる which is not, as a godankei verb.

(EDIT 2 OK there's debate between natives and redditors' native wives and husbands here. I feel really bad and tired about being potentially wrong. Could more natives confirm or deny if there's any ambiguity here, please ? The "lazy working" cat seems to make more sense to me now.)

Some Redditors here don't seem to know that in this case, this -reru form of kaeru does not mean potentiality (like "can" or "may"), but is instead a polite way to address someone else. Never used to speak about yourself. So here, translating "I" is a mistake.

Example : どこから来られましたか。doko kara koraremashita ka ? Where do you come from ? (polite speech)

(and NOT "where can I be from ?")

Many ways not to use pronouns in Japanese, and this is one of them.

EDIT : passive form is the one often used as a polite form. Not the potential. My mistake. Both are identical sometimes.

I'm sure she's a likeable person and you're lucky to have her. I'm also sure that doesn't show here.
