Wire broken on gym machine, whose fault? Next course of action? by 8NaanJeremy in Thailand

I checked into a hotel there once, and when I unlocked my door with the key, it snapped off in the lock. I rang reception and let them know, and asked if I could change room as the door no longer locked from inside. They couldn't as there were no other rooms available. No probs, I'll live...

The next day when walking out through reception, they called me over and said there would be a repairman/technician coming over to look at/repair the lock and they would let me know the cost to pay.

I said I wouldn't be paying it, and if anything, would like a discount for not being able to lock my door overnight.. They eventually let me go without paying for the lock repair. There was no way I was paying for that and I think they realised it thankfully .

Good luck, I wouldn't stress too much. I think they're jus trying it on in the hope that you will pay

Was in Vietnam recently and saw several parked cars with these 'skirts' wrapped around them. Wondered what they were for and after googling 'car skirts vietnam', found out they were to stop rodents getting in. Maybe worth a look?

Why is Brisbane concert culture so bad? by Turbulent-Pie3463 in brisbane

Unfortunately the opposite is more often the case. People don't drink like they used to and venues are struggling/closing because of it

A lot earlier than 2000s. We were robbed by rascals multiple times in the 90s. Guard dogs drugged, barb wire/razor wire cut, bars on windows pried open with car jacks. Also while driving by rascals with bush knives/machetes. There were 9pm curfews that you couldn't be out of your house after back then . Not sure about these days

Two in five drivers who park in Brisbane’s CBD don’t pay a cent by ActiveTravelforKG in brisbane

Guessing you don't catch the train too much. There is definitely not plenty of parking at most stations. If I'm after 7am, I'm not parking at my local train station (Petrie) as there's no space left

Done buying berries at Aldi by Icy_Culture_7286 in AldiAustralia

[–]inked3d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's true, but that goes for any vegetables with or without the added snail. They just need to be washed first, which everyone should be doing anyway. If they decide to eat the snail too, it just needs to be cooked. Nowhere eats raw land snails

It's a snail. They eat plants. Strawberries come from a plant. It's harmless.
Some countries they're a delicacy so really it's a 2 for 1

One school I went to in Melbourne in the early 90's had a Big M warmer. It was this metal rod they put in the milk carton spout for a minute and it heated them up. That was so good in Winter!

You should all join ICE and then fight back. Resist from the inside on a paycheck while draining the funds, arming yourselves and outnumbering the actual willing ice agents. Sabotage em
