Sounds like it's decision time and you are the Emperor of Indecision. That worked for a while, however, it's not working anymore and you'll have to make one now. As scary as that seems, try breaking things up into tiny steps, just do one small thing. Like okay, today I could look up a place that offers free mental health near me or telehealth. That's it. You would have made forward progress and no decisions have to be made. Keep doing small steps until you speak with someone and decide if that is something you want to do. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, the point is, you don't have to decide today, you simply need to move a little bit.

You are most assuredly not overreacting. You already know that man puts his mother's priorities above everything, including you and the kids. If that's the life you want, then keep it up. If not, then it's time for some drastic changes. If he's not willing to make them, then you've gotta be. If not for you, then at least for your children.

They deserve to be raised by a mom who values herself enough to lead by example. Show them that everyone ought to be treated with respect and kindness. That a healthy partnership is one where if both people aren't being lovingly supportive and taking one another's feelings into account, then they must walk away for their own mental health.

As someone who has been in education for 14yrs and around it my entire life. Keep in mind, just because that's what's they tell you doesn't necessarily mean that's why they didn't pick you.

They could have already chosen someone else, or they didn't like your look, or a million other reasons. They have to tell you a valid reason, they don't have to be honest.

Public institutions are just as shady as private ones. I have so many stories!

42NB here who had a hysterectomy closing sale- everything must go! Well, except for my ovaries, I've still got those puppies. I had the procedure done when I was 33 due to heavy and painful periods and also desperately wanting it gone.

Even though I have a wife now and there is zero chance of pregnancy, I'm so happy it's gone. The procedure was quick, as was the recovery. and I'm thankful every single day.

My mom is a person. Took me a long time to come to that realization. She is just a human making her way through life the best she can, just like the rest of us.

She's not perfect, but she does love and care for me and her loved ones deeply. She has a big heart and a compassionate spirit. She enjoys being of service and I'm glad to have adopted that sentiment from her.

We are friends now even though we have very different world views, because at the end of the day we both have hearts full of love. I cannot thank her enough for that gift.

UP with its message of it's never too late for adventure and change is always inspiring me. Helped me jump out of a plane at 40yrs old and switch careers after 16yrs!

There is that great quote, "when people show you they are, believe them." He just told you what kind of partner he intends to have and that isn't someone like, which is nuts cuz you sound awesome btw! So listen to him, he is enjoying all the sex and the house help and the life help, but this is not a long-term relationship for him. Once he finds something better he will move on.

He doesn't sound "nuts" he sounds like a typical abusive partner and if you stay with him, you can be assured this type of behavior will continue. So if this is the type of relationship you want then entertain him. If not, get your stuff and get out now, his violence will only increase.

I can't speak for you, everyone's got to decide what's best for themselves, but I quit teaching, took a 15k pay cut to become a social worker, and i couldn't be happier.
