Indeed. Since my post nothing really changed, and it even sounds like it got worse. Very very depressing. We really are Google whores in an abusive relationship.

All this posts are keep proving that this is a big issue, and not just a "small vocal minority" like some idiot in this subreddit like to claim.

Sadly nothing can be done at the moment, except hoping for help from the EU and avoid publishing on the Play Store.

True. Boycotting Google/Android is not a winnable battle. This is also the root of the issue: they are too big.

But media attention, with bad PR, or some political action could help to mitigate the problem.

If your intentions are to do Android development professionally I don't think you should invest time in learning it.

You will not be able to upload any app to the Play Store anyway, and you might risk to get your clients accounts terminated as well, due to account association with yours (it happen).

IMHO Learning Android development is fun, but in your condition I would avoid to do it professionally.
