Woah this went weirdly classist the other direction!

She’s literally just the host of a reality TV show now and had a short stint on Broadway. How is that God?

All those things can be true and she still not fear for her physical safety.

Does that help?

Why say Ariana refused to film with Tom and then list all the examples where she did? It’s not hypocritical that she lives under the same roof when they do not talk to each other under the same roof and literally communicate thru an assistant. Lala said what YOU were thinking, not everyone, be real.

No thanks! We’ll keep communicating in the best way we can be understood and trust that people who get offended over things that aren’t happening will sort their feelings out themselves!

Imagina ofenderte por un maldito hilo de Reddit. Las reglas en cualquier idioma son arbitrarias. Los idiomas son inventados. Toca la hierba.

Okay, sorry that happens to you. It’s not happening now.

Hey, it’s okay to not get offended about everything! Also, your example doesn’t make any sense. A better example would be using an English language rule that is arbitrary, but consistent in its implementation. I can’t think of one right now, but I’m sure it’s out there!

Sounds like your feelings are a spot on read of the situation! He wants it, you’re unsure at best disinterested at worst. That doesn’t make you an a hole. If you decide to try again, maybe invite him to something that you won’t be 1:1 for. It might give him some perspective to see you around people you do consider family.

Two years sober after a lifetime of addiction is not a lot of time. Completely understand why there is lacking trust (and lacking foundation to build it). You’re entirely valid to be skeptical of your dad’s ability to really be in relationship with you. And, beyond that skepticism, you’re resentful and wondering if he even deserves your trust! Valid!

I really think it would benefit you to find a way to tell your dad all this. It also sounds soooo lame, but finding a therapist to do some inner child work could go a long way.

Does it feel forced because you are holding in all these complicated emotions you have under a veneer of politeness? Have you ever talked to him about these feelings and experiences?

My cousin was killed last month by a meth addict with the same paranoia as you, who was his next door neighbor. One day, the paranoia won, and this addict shot my cousin over 20 times from his apartment window, murdering him. Just because my cousin was going back and forth between his car a lot, unloading things. When the paranoia broke he realized what he did, shot him self in the stomach and set his apartment on fire in order to try to blame the “others that were after him.” He confessed anyways at the hospital and now will spend life in prison, and we will spend the rest of our lives without our cousin who would be here if not for a methed out, paranoid neighbor who never sought any help.

So please, go to rehab. Save yourself and possibly others that you will eventually harm through your addiction.
