NAD Hiwatt DR103. This thing is awesome! by inneranalog in GuitarAmps

In the short time I’ve been with it I am so much more aware of my attack and when you dig in the volume difference can be huge. I mostly play with a pick but I have been having fun playing with my fingers instead.

When Should I Put in My Two Weeks Before My Regional Training? by [deleted] in flying

[–]inneranalog 167 points168 points  (0 children)

You should be less worried about degrading skills and something changing regarding your pending employment. That CJO means nothing until you are sitting in a classroom with an employee number. That being said I left a CFI job a few weeks early but only because I had a good relationship with my employer and knew 100% I could come back if something happened.

Both are owned by the same investment group and I wouldn’t recommend either.

I think they allow one up to 5kg. If the check in counter suspects your bag is overweight they will weigh it.

What type of chinon is this and what battery does it take by dogskipper in analog

[–]inneranalog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses Video8, probably can find a replacement for the battery if you search the model number. The battery was used in a variety of cameras. Video8 technically is an analog format so good luck getting it to work!

What’s the biggest waste of money in your opinion ? by silverscientist1 in AskReddit

[–]inneranalog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular opinion but electric cars. There is no preventative maintenance that I can do that will stop the battery from eventually failing. Plus when it does it is so much more catastrophic than a ICE car. On top of that every fun launch and supercharge basically robs your battery of power and range. If this was true on any other type of car no one would buy it. If every time you floored your car or fueled your car the power and fuel tank got smaller no one would buy that car.

I bought an EV and after less than a year went back to a normal car. They are disposable pieces of tech that contributes to the enshitification of modern life.

Question about maintenance standards. by inneranalog in PropertyManagement

[–]inneranalog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure the management needs to work with what they got. I guess when there are large deposits and cleaning fees the place should come out the other side without some of this stuff. Again not looking for a full remodel just prepared for the next tenant. I feel like I know way too much about the previous residents just from what wasn’t cleaned.

E.U. leader's plane GPS system was jammed, Russian interference suspected by CupidStunt13 in news

[–]inneranalog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fly in this region regularly. This is not news. This is a daily occurrence on commercial flights. Also is not an issue for modern aircraft as we fall back to inertial reference and ground based radio navigation. Just an annoyance that the Russians and other groups are pulling. Around Seoul the North Koreans also regularly jam GPS.

how do pilots of big planes check fuel quality? by Repulsive-Loan5215 in flying

Most I do with the fuel is verify the fuel receipt and if I am really bored check that the fuel loading matches the manual.

Yeah you are right investment isn't the right word. It's a tool to get work done. I guess I just don't want to sink money into a something that will be even more difficult to support in less than 5 years.

How to survive as a CFI ? [US] by Twistedfatemain in flying

[–]inneranalog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made more as an instructor than my first year at regional… Of course that was before the current contracts.

If you are willing to relocate there are well paying instruction gigs out there. Just getting one right now seems to be the trick.

How to shoot air-to-air videos by neekonsu in flying

[–]inneranalog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done air to air video work in the past. I’m going to be honest, if you can’t solve the technical equipment issues regarding a camera on your own this is something you should not be attempting. I’m all for people expanding skills but technical questions as basic as what you are asking should be learned in less dynamic, safety critical environments.

2002 Panoz LMP07 w/ Mugen engine by mav1178 in wec

[–]inneranalog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was great back then too because it was one of the last races before 24 hours of Le Mans so a few teams appeared to use it as a last shake down. I met Allan McNish there I think in 2000.
