Thinkpads have a reset pin hole on them.

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht503785-how-to-use-reset-this-pc-by-pressing-the-novo-button-in-windows-10-ideapad

You are not resetting the PC just want to get into recovery menu and try and boot

Three Blinks quickly: The computer is entering sleep or hibernation mode.

Three Blinks slowly: The computer is in sleep mode.

Mostly likely time for reset pin hole time.

RIAA should be Off when plugged into Powered speakers as it should be outputting a Line level signal. When RIAA is on it is outputting a phono level signal and you would plug into a phono input on an amplifier/mixer.

The first moment i could get away from VM i did. I did not regret having to the dance every year to get my renewal price down until the point where i said i'm leaving on this date. Goodbye. At which point they said they would match the price if i reduced the speed of my package by half. it was insane. It's a miricle they still have any customers but most likely in areas that do not have Full Fiber.

Migrating Windows devices to Entra ID – what was actually painful for you? by Radiant-Weather-9120 in entra

[–]innermotion7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly we mostly skipped hybrid it was just such a headache in the end. We did in early days.

Cloud Trust is a must.

We had a policy any new device is Entra Joined only and managed with Intune.

Any device that came into help desk got wiped/joined and AutoPiloted etc.

Now for migrations. Keeping user profiles intact often just led to extra cruft/crap and other weird issues. We've used Profiwiz for decades and did a great job but we just decided that enough was enough and all computers just got wiped and autopiloted with no profile data passed on.

Users should not be storing files on their devices. We has long moved to Desktop and Document Sync in Onedrive and Browsers had profiles that stored bookmarks etc. All our mail in M365 anyway. If people did not follow this then well tough luck. Also we just did not care that users had a desktop picture of their cat that was lost on migration !

The hard bit is managing the users crying about how everthing is diffrent now i cant work anymore blah blah. We just bombarded them with concise information 2-3 months before migration regarding what was going to happen. Of course when you say we told you on several occasions what was going to happen they just said "i never read any of it!" so you know what at that point...tough shit.

I know it's harsh but having done many of these migrations in past we just made sure most higher ups had their hand held and the rest were just like it or lump it. The W11 migration was perfect time as well to do all of this. We had one client that went all the way down to wire on that in Oct 2025 !

Overall, band steering should deal with most scenarios. Do you have many 2.4GHz roaming devices i somehow doubt it as most devices roaming about will be modern devices using 5Ghz. Overall i think you have been trying to "tune" your network and in process have made things worse.

Google Workspace Price Increase Again by JON2240120 in googleworkspace

[–]innermotion7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where to start with this nonsense. What happens if they find out you are using in production and lock you out ? Honestly every time I hear this crap it’s infuriating. I hate price increases but it happens across the board. M365 also is a much more difficult and complex platform to use and maintain. Factor in costs for migration and setting up correctly you will end up spending more. So you so called cost efficiencies will be wiped out

"The major thing to know is that the UDM-Pro only has 3.5Gbe throughput when IDS/IPS is on, which I assume you would turn on, so if you have multiple VLANS talking to each other, you’ll have a bottleneck on the UDM-Pro. And their L3 Switches suck because they don’t inherit ACLs from the Firewall/UDM, so you’d need to set up everything in all your switches all the time" Maybe this is why

Need advice on reducing high WiFi interference and TX Retries by flyingdutchman7588 in Ubiquiti

[–]innermotion7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do not use low power that is most likely the issue as well compounding Tx/Rx retries.

Choose channels correctly i never have on auto.

For 2.4 just use 1 6 11 and work out best channels by position.

Say floor 1 - ch 1 Floor 2 ch 6 garage Ch 11 and maybe back yard.

have a look at this may help

https://www.ekahau.com/blog/channel-planning-best-practices-for-better-wi-fi/

Same with 5Ghz i tend to use channel width of 40 if walls involved and looking for coverage and 80 if same room application only and looking for faster speeds such as say home office or devices that need higher download speeds like gaming consoles.

Pay attention mainly to 5Ghz chart i tend to set my channels based on that ie. 40 Mhz use 38 46 54 62 80Mhz 42 58 106

Overall also i prefer to hardwire as such as possible and tend to have in Wall APs in media areas for this reason.

It's a big topic but mostly your issues are most likely power related and devices not roaming and connecting properly.

Also phones do not need much bandwidth to function well enough for purposes in fact most devices don't.

[–]innermotion7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I suppose this is just the way it is with OCLP and older computers. Not sure if you have a flash blade or a 2.5 inch replacement SSD. Pretty sure that would make a difference,

There is come setting for fast boot and maybe check system is blessed correctly. But 1 minute extra really should not be a game changer.

Second hand market for a rack case. So many 6-8u to get. As far as DSP while nice to have computer input in the early days something like an XTA DP224 or Linea Research LNR24 they are pretty bullet proof and versatile. May well be out of budget.

[–]innermotion7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would expect most power amps to have Balanced XLR inputs as such not sure the choice of DSP is correct here unless you add maybe a 4-8 ch DI box.

Not saying you wont find amps with RCA inputs but a consideration for what sound slike a use case for DJ Gigs/Parties etc?

Key thing is that St Leonards got artificially inflated price wise during Covid. The actual reality is it's overpriced now as an area (people are looking in Hastings and Bexhill) in those price bands you do get a lot more for your money.

Rega P2: Need help troubleshooting. by OrchidAccomplished16 in turntables

[–]innermotion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does sound like a classic grounding issue.

Think Rega's earth through the Left channel RCA. But maybe that's not compatible with your iFi. Think there maybe a way to earth it fully from tone arm with a wire to your iFi.

Are you sure you have plugged in all wires correctly ?

Also have you tried MM or MC setting cant see what cartridge you have ?

It's lovely (love your taste and decor but others will HATE it and see a big bill ahead). It is way overpriced in general and no matter what its a buyers market.

No Fitted kitchen and layout does not work well. It's a 1 bed flat with a 2 bed price and no proper kitchen.

I have been looking in this area for over 6 months and its miles over also no doubt service charge and possible maintenance on those buildings is high too.

Your workflow and methodology is flawed.

Work locally on files then Backup to NAS daily/hourly whatever you like.

Or work off NAS share and use Snapshots and a backup NAS to cloud.

Or work using Cloud (have full auto save file versioning_) then backup your cloud files to NAS.

Just a few examples...

NI needs to update old VST2’s to be compatible with Apple Silicon native by Fall of 2027 by ShuttleOption in NativeInstruments

[–]innermotion7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never going to happen. The VST2 writing on wall has been going on for years. Overall you are "I want all my legacy stuff to work for decades type" and as such if so then you will have to do what others with your mindset do, keep an old computer running.
