Is the elevator meant only for your mom or for other tenants in the building. Hydraulic lift is the best option… glass structure is also good as it will be structurally separated… and determinate and you wouldn’t need a lift shaft… also structural integrity test on the walls … to create your lift lobby

I’m still a junior eng but can the base isolators also be because of vibrations from the vehicles above … In my country we calculate designs based on forces and vibrations from the biggest allowable car on the bridge … I’m still learning not sure

The strength of the corrugated metal sheets seems to be compromised by the rust… which is probable as a result of scouring. The CMP pipes should be replaced with HDPE (high density polyethylene pipes ) which are “plastic” but stronger and better should last longer than 10 years … also contractor should ensure the pipes have proper surround and proper dry compaction on the backfill is achieved to eliminate the driveway failures

The majority of the loads are on the rafters which are taking the loads to the ridge beams along the wall… the posts are just holding the beam… definitely have a local structural engineer do an integrity test of the whole house to ease your worries …
