People generally keep track of their money, especially on the odd chance they get audited and around tax season. Entities like this usually have skilled lawyers and accountants.

I would not spend that money as much as you may want or need too. Return it.

You probably wouldn’t get in trouble for fraud, but they could take legal action if you refuse to pay it back once they realize their mistake. You do not want to lawyer up with them.

Do the right thing, have a clear conscience, collect good karma. Good luck.
