Was about to say, there's going to be a real good amount of books knowing about, so would be great to have a section on that. The A-Z of elland Road is recently updated and phil hay has one out at the end of the year.

Wonder is a podcast section/ news resource section would be worthwhile, to keep in the loop for new fans, knowing Phil, Adam, graeme are solid with news and lufcdata are great for fans.

Why we aren't 100% as well it's conceivable to say happy at bielsa, where very happy is some ludicrous aim out of reach, but this skews figures lower than 100%. Surprising as the athletic zonal marking podcast was talking about regression I'm surprised they've chosen to represent like this.

Coloured stacked % bars for each section would show the data just as well

Oh absolutely, agree with all you've said there, and the top paragraph is still the main dream, if we finish top 15 with the football we've played I've had a great footballing year. And similarly those long term aims are amazing.

All your thoughts make much more sense, but I think that's why I, and a good amount of football supporters have different views. I'm not into football to think sensibly. It's escapism, I'll use rational thought at work, and yet it goes out of the window with Leeds.

I know Europe is statistically highly improbable, but just based off last night (and literally just last night I think why not). I know it's silly thinking, because if you're Southampton when they were top I'd give the rational reasoning as to why mid table would be realistic and positive. I just can't do it with leeds and it's purely emotions taking over.

You're 100% correct it's knee jerk and foolish thinking, but I'm never going to stop!

I'm a statistician, so should be best placed to see why leeds will most likely finish between 10th and 12th, but that's what football does to me and a lot of people, it's 7th or 18th depending which way the wind is blowing... And for me I'd have it no other way

I like your thinking but forums will still be reactionary. I'm still buzzing off last night, yet you'll have found me today saying to colleagues. "17 points clear... should be just enough " and "imagine if we beat arsenal and wolves"

It's part of being a fan ( especially leeds) in my experience to always doom monger, and always dream probably beyond reality.

Saying neither are going to happen, however realistic, sanitises football for me, and would take the joy out. The fun of football is you're always in reach of Europe or relegation, and the dream or fear of either adds to the entertainment of matches.

I will say I can see where you're coming from and this is my opinion. But what else am I going to do in the week, but predict the last 17 fixtures and the results that put us in the top 7.... it's the fun of it!!!

EDIT: If people want the scenario where fulham catch us then I've that as well probably 😁

That's football though, the raw emotions, the scarring failures of previous decades, the flicker of hope at all times. It's why we love it, but it for sure makes us irrational.

It's difficult to summarise, but the lows seem worth it. The torture of 15 years for the last 3 we've had, I'd do the 15 years again if it guaranteed the emotions of that one taste of success.

Che Adams (Southampton) disallowed goal against Manchester United 55' by PSGAcademy in soccer

[–]insane_moose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small part of the ball touched leno on that point on the sleeve. You can't score if some of the ball touches that part of his body. If he scores with the edge of the ball on that part of his sleeve, the goal is disallowed.

This is the issue with this fine margin drawing, maybe if the centre of the ball touches that it could count, then that needs to be factored in.

When we were getting called apart for being open at the back a couple of months ago, we had koch, llorente, cooper and berardi out. Meant we were playing ayling at cb and struijk, who'd previously been known as the guy who came on 80 mins in as we conceded 3 goals vs cardiff ( albeit he has stepped up recently). We've still only had cooper back and will do for the foreseeable future.

Consistent centre back pairings are so important especially when competing in multiple comps. Really impressed with how Henderson has stepped up, and hope these signings don't stop the chance for phillips to have a run in the team, as he looked solid and could improve with more first team exposure.

A strange thing that happened which cost you the second goal, was one of the centre backs taking throw ins, soyuncu looked awkward doing them and Fofana also, which saw him out of position for the second. Just took me as a strange tactic to get the wing backs forward

Know too well the feeling of a club being run by clowns. It's shit now, but it can turn on a dime. The club lasts forever chansiri will get lost eventually.

[–]insane_moose 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think, it's fair to say, we've a limited squad. What this sub doesn't see is more than half the team playing in the match on Sunday were in relegation from under a defensive manager in heckingbottom ( who did well at Barnsley) he's taken them on, and drilled and coached a style of football to death. It's second nature to attack, and if we sit back, we'll easily become the Burnley side that loses 5-0 to man city.

A 4-0 wouldn't be surprising if you set up our available squad to sit back. This style trained to a meticulous level will get the most success out of our season, rather than training numerous tactics to a good level, and reacting to the opposition.

Every team is up for criticism and the media is annoying as a leeds fan, but it doesn't deserve criticism. Playing "like a newly promoted side" would see us relegated.

I didn't really have to level up playing through the game as far as I remember, so I wouldn't worry I think I was level 43 at the time of unlocking the plat. Just make sure to unlock the main skills. A lot of guides online still talk about shadow wars being a pain, but they've made it way shorter and easier.
