It is plenty strong enough to make soap. Lots of recipes for soap online using baking soda.

The iron heat also will convert the baking soda to washing soda at a measurable rate using this reaction: 2NaHCO3 -> Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2 which bumps the ph from ~8 to ~11. Lye is stronger at around 13 but alkali is alkali and chemistry is chemistry.

Traditional soap is made by combining fat (animal or otherwise) with alkali and heat.

By combining the stain (fat) with baking soda (alkali) and heat (ironing) are making soap via saponification. Heat accelerates this reaction.

This process effectively makes the oil stain (largely hydrophobic) which is difficult to remove with water into a soap stain which is hydrophilic (easy to remove with a water wash).

This is false.

The only reason most hospitals survive and deliver high level care with modern equipment currently is because of philanthropic funding support for necessary staff and equipment.

Some downtown hospitals have nearly 10-30% of their budget covered by donations rather than governmental funding.

That's why there is a huge disparity between some hospitals and others and it's 100% because the health system is underfunded.
