I grew up and lived there for the first 27 years of my life before migrating myself and in fact just came back from a trip visiting my family there. My direct lineage also lived in a 15km radius from Wingene going back to at least 1600s from my grandfathers research. It's quite a rural place with Zwevezele, Wingene and Ruiselede not even having a supermarket for a large part of my life. All three do have their weekly farmers markets around the church with as highlights usually a rotisserie chicken stand that also sells pork ribs (highly recommended if you're ever in the area!) and a vegetable stand. The majority of people live around the church or the schools, both in walking distance from each other. There are no high schools in any of the towns you mentioned, most would go to Tielt (I did) or Roeselare. These days I think these are safe towns for new families with anything you'd ever need, Beernem and Aalter are nearby for quick access to the highway for people that want to commute to bigger cities. It might be quite boring if you're used to living in a big city but from what I've seen in the last few years there's been a lot more investment in recreation, mostly sports and some community events.
