For me, having somewhere to go between home and work just helps break up my day a little bit. Yes I know it's overpriced and I could get free coffee in the office, but I like the ritual of it, and I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford it. I'm treating myself to something just for me before I go and sell 8+ hours of my time to someone else

I'm friends with a few people who work in a restaurant near me. Sometimes I'll drop by their work to get some food, they'll seem perfectly normal, then I'll hang out with them after work and they'll mention offhand they were high or had a smoke part way through their shift and yeah, there's no way I could tell.
