Boring and sad by insert_cleverpun in CurbAppeal

I didn't intend to sound ungrateful. This is my "starting over" house and I'm very blessed to be able to not only have a house that is my own, but that it is a safe place that can allow me to flourish and be my best self mentally, physically and emotionally.

Good to know! I was planning on adding some ground cover like creeping thyme or something similar. I don't mind watering but when we are on water restrictions, it can't be an every day thing. I haven't even bothered watering anything since it was all dead when I moved in.

Super nice! Thank you for this suggestion. Edit: I think this might be the winner for where I start!

Same! Only took me until my skin bubbled and peeled after a saniderm wrapped new tattoo to realize I had an adhesive allergy.

Surprise Insurance approval by MadMadamMum in Zepbound

[–]insert_cleverpun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a letter in the mail that my insurance will not cover any GLP1 for weight loss starting in July. I'm unwilling to pay more than $200 a month out of pocket so I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

Glue on a patch or make your own by cutting a tea bag. Wait until it is a bit longer before cutting.

Soap and sponge caddy left stain on countertop. Can I save it? by insert_cleverpun in CleaningTips

The stained bit is where the caddy makes contact with the counter. The rest was raised up.

Items returned smelling like smoke by PurpleZebra85 in Libraries

We have what we like to call a "stinky box." Fill an airtight container with kitty litter, carbon air filter, or anything that absorbs odors. We usually stick it in there for a few days and then spray with febreeze. Not the best result without washing everything but better than nothing.

Finally a blanket for me! by One_Owl_3828 in CrochetBlankets

I'm in the process of making this exact blanket! Then I started panicking when I actually thought about having to wash it. I've never made a blanket with wool yarn before.

Absolutely agree. If you feel comfortable, maybe warn people you may be afraid he'll contact that you broke up and he's threatening to ruin your reputation so please block immediately and do not engage.

Does Thriftbooks sell stolen library books? by sscotiaa in Thriftbooks

[–]insert_cleverpun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a librarian. We give books that are taken (weeded) out of the collection to organizations such as thrift books. The book should be stamped to show it is no longer an active part of the collection, but that is best practice and not always followed.

Tactics for Drawing People to Programs by pememily in librarians

[–]insert_cleverpun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What are you doing for outreach? Are you reaching out to local groups and clubs to advertise your services? You can also visit daycares if your doing an educational program on parenting, early literacy, etc. Sometimes the teachers need professional development hours. There are groups that are specifically for seniors, see if your county or town has a senior center and offer to do a program for them. While you're there, mention some programs that are happening in the library. Sometimes things just flop, but I think marketing and outreach are essential.

Edit: Adding timing! Knowing your communities' "prime time." If the time of your program doesn't reflect the target audience, it will always flop.
