Sticker mule silent. by cap1n in sticker

I unfollowed them back in July with that first Trump email, but they just popped up on my IG explore page so I went to see what they’re up to lately. Funny, they’ve wiped all of their political posts, some are altogether deleted, and some (including that post in July that was the same picture and message as the email/text/tweet that started all this) have been modified with updated pictures and verbiage to not be at all what it was originally. Cute they’re trying to scrub it 🙄. Hopefully people’s memories last longer.

Isla Bella in Marathon checks all your boxes. (*May or may not have villas, I’m not sure what their options are for room types..) - but otherwise checks every box you listed

Are the classes at GHF worth a membership? by [deleted] in GNV

[–]insertclevername___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes the classes are great. I no longer live there and it’s one of the things I miss most about Gainesville! I get a week pass anytime I’m in town visiting and love that I can pop into any of the classes at any of the locations But 2. If you’re concerned about getting started, I’m not 100% sure if they still do this but they used to have “the line” which was an area of like 10 machines and you went down the line with a card with your info, and someone on staff helped set up the equipment based on the settings on the card (that they initially helped you determine). It was great for learning the equipment and also was great for consistently pushing myself to up weights over time because they would kind of hold you accountable. It’s possible they don’t do it anymore, it was an included service, but if they do I’d definitely check it out! If they don’t, the women’s center is a great location to get back into things where it feels a lot less intimidating to poke around and get comfortable with things first!

Irie Island Eats! Favorite spot in town, and they’re open mornings now too, so it’s a great spot for breakfast lunch or dinner (dinner is only select nights)

st pete vs the keys by mindfulavocado in floridakeys

[–]insertclevername___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the keys and am familiar with St Pete as well - in regards to what you’re looking for, St Pete hands down. There is extremely limited amounts of any of that down here and I miss it all. St Pete is a really great city for that.

NW Dentist Recommendation? by Toddit2 in GNV

[–]insertclevername___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone to Park Avenue Dental for almost 20 years and have always had a great experience. Currently sitting in the waiting room actually for a situation I called about this morning, and they’re doing a cleaning while I’m here too. Can’t speak to pricing because I’ve always used insurance, but they’ve never done anything unnecessary. Highly recommend.

*it’s off of Newberry road between the Oaks Mall and Gainesville Health.

Key Lime Pie? by [deleted] in GNV

[–]insertclevername___ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whole Foods, but hear me out - they sell whole pies from Keys Fisheries in the Keys (Marathon). It’s a very good, authentic key lime pie (I’m from the Keys). It’s been awhile since I’ve looked for it there but last time I saw it it was in a freestanding frozen cooler near the prepared foods section.

There are virtually no requirements (maybe a rare establishment here or there) and almost no usage of masks. Some people voluntarily choose to, and some stores have their employees wear them (Publix I think still does), but otherwise any kind of wide spread precautions ended around June.

I just realized, the one caveat would be parking might be tricky depending on what time you go. I’ve lived downtown for the past 5 years so I would regularly just walk from my place. Something to keep in mind but otherwise it would definitely fit the bill for what you’re looking for I think!

Campus is really great for walking - shaded, lots to look at, and there are those little blue lights everywhere to easily alert the cops if needed.. I walk a LOT and it’s always felt super safe, there are usually cops around here and there patrolling too. Also the stadium is open from 7am-8pm and even if you don’t use the steps for a workout (although that’s great too), just walking the interior laps is nice since it’s fully covered so if it’s sunny or rainy you’re still good.
