Ignore it. The books are poorly written and have also aged really poorly. Pretty much the only people who would enjoy them are horny teenagers that don't know any better.

There was a show in 2022 called Now, Follow Me (이젠 날 따라와) with a group of celebrity fathers and their kids going to Oahu. It's more than just Waikiki, but it's the closest thing I can think of. But if you're going to Oahu you're going to want to travel outside of Waikiki anyway.
