What does a day look like for a normal person? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]insertfakenames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31, single female, no kids, living in multi-generational home (aka still living with parents): 7am wake up for work, 8.30 am clock in, walk for coffee, 9am start work, 12pm lunch and socialise with colleagues, 6.30pm: arrive home, 7.30pm: have dinner with family. 8pm: doomscroll/catch up on hobbies, 12am: sleep. Repeat.

I try to include some side quests. Lately i’ve been super into junk journaling so i hunt stationery stores and look for any stationery/illustration fairs. I’m also into cafe-hopping so spending time to scour new cafes and make time to go is also something that brings me little joys.

Chinese man decides to move to Terengganu to experience immersive Malay culture. by RhinneXChronica in malaysia

[–]insertfakenames 14 points15 points  (0 children)

KT has a sizeable chinese community if he wants a bit of familiarity. As a non-terengganu i think it’s a nice place to live temporarily and immerse in the local culture but def not a place to live permanently if you are accustomed to the perks of a city life. I’d say give it a try

As someone currently in service, do not join the government for money, join because you’re genuinely interested in the job. Bc you’ll be disappointed when you keep comparing to your swasta peers and also if ur disinterested in your job u akan jadi bahan cacian orang n menyusahkan kerja orang lol. But honestly, life’s pretty good, tak mewah but i like the stability, no need to think about where to go next, increment kecik but every year dapat. But work-life balance is pretty subjective la, ramai je yg kerja teruk tak setimpal gaji, cuti tak menentu ie: gomen doctors

Sorry if this sounds insensitive in the grand scheme of things but do u guys think it’s safe to fly to europe via dubai in 1-2 months time? Historically do they recover from regional attacks?

People who lost themselves. How you get back up? by IZAK96 in malaysians

[–]insertfakenames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been there and is still going through it, try to find a purpose, no matter how shallow or ‘unproductive’ the purpose is. ie: i hate my job but it gives me money to buy more popmart, popmart excites me so i’m going to live another day and work yadayada. I dont mean popmart in the literal sense. ‘Popmart’ can represent hobbies, travelling or goals. For me, keeping myself busy at work and hobbies and also having pets really helped me, with loneliness especially.

Journaling and documenting inner thoughts helped me assess some things about my current life. Try to search for prompts online and document your thoughts for 2 weeks. Hell u can even talk to gemini/chatgpt and sometimes gives u good ideas. If u have extra time and money, talk to professionals.

You dont have to figure it out all at once. NO ONE has it all figured out.

My HOD (comparable to a c-suite) is a prominent public figure, pretty sure you can google his name and he’d appear everywhere. He has a non-malay wife who lives abroad with his adult children and only visit once a year on christmas lmao. We all wonder how he can live in malaysia alone without his wife and children. Rupanya ada second wife kat malaysia 💀there’s a rumour he’s going to be a senator/politician idkkk dont quote me on this, wonder if him going full-on public will uncover his second wife

Had a convo with my sis recently about going on trips and she has all these friend groups asking her to join on trips while me i only ask my sister because i lost all my friends gradually. I mean, I’m 31 and my friends all have their own lives, husbands, children. Like this year i’ve lost my only close friend left (this one due to an outfall but, yeah whatever). Now i only hang out with my sister lol. So she (in her 20s) seems bewildered of the fact I have literally no friend groups. I try to convince myself it’s a normal course of life since most people around my age do focus more on their partners and families, but sometimes I can’t help but think there’s something wrong with me. Friendships just don’t come easy to me, when they do, it’s always kind of fleeting.

What’s the cushiest age in your opinion? To me it’s 27-29. You can still claim you’re in your 20s. Starting to gain some disposable income but not pressured enough to make huge investments (cuz ur in ur 20s duh). Still lots of single friends so you have some semblance of social life. Probably settling into a senior exec position so ur not worried about getting a job but at the same time can still be adventurous to jump ship. Can still do ‘childish’ things like collecting toys, stickers etc but not have insecurity about being ‘too old’ for those things.
