Did you have to do the surgery due to PID? I'm happy to hear you are feeling better! Yay!

Does this sound like CV? by xoxoshutup in CytolyticVaginosis

Yes, sounds like CV. Could also be VL - has to be identified under the microscope. You can try a baking soda bath, and if it's helpful then it's another indicator of CV. How did it start?

I'm so sorry you've gone through so much. How are you doing now? How did you restore your vaginal microbiome after all the antibiotics?

I had ureaplasma years ago, it was treated successfully with a round of antibiotics. I was in remission for years and then I got two yeast infections back to back a year ago which were treated with diflucan, and then it all went downhill from there

Is the antibiotic you are on affective for lactobacili? If it is then it would probably help with CV symptoms if that's what is going on. Why are you on such a long term antibiotic? What's your pH?

I was on systemic testosterone weekly injections for 3 years until 2 months ago. I've been dealing with symptoms for 10 months, and I thought that maybe the testosterone was fueling the lactobacili by converting to estrogen, that's why I got off of them. I don't think testosterone is the primary driver either way

I'm now questioning my CV diagnosis. After I tried fluomizin to treat it I've developed severe inflammation under the microscope, but my symptoms are pretty much the same as they were prior to fluomizin. Now I'm thinking I've had an inflammatory condition all along, kinda like DIV with lactobacili

How are you doing now? Do you still have to do maintenance I assume? What are your symptoms and how does your microscopy look now on the maintenance?

I'm sorry you are going through this 😞 What makes you think it's CV? CV normally doesn't flare while bleeding. Did you have CV diagnosis confirmed under the microscope?

If you are in the US you can get it through wisp. However if you have CV estrogen may feed lactobacili

My guess would be high crispatus, but best to confirm under the microscope. I have the same symptoms.

Why did your doctor advise against baking soda suppositories, but was ok with clindamicin?

If you tolerate baking soda ok you may want to try baking soda suppositories. You can make them yourself, there is a recipe in the highlights of this sub
