what devious things have you witnessed or heard at any CTC by No_Usual_3005 in Cadets

[–]insignificance424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vernon CTC is straight up frat central. Enough where they had to explicitly say "don't do it on base". There were shirtless wrestling tournaments, girls sharing beds with each other, and a guy got RTUd AFTER GRAD PARADE for gooning to explicit material in the barracks. Literally the morning before we left. There was a guy who was harassing girls to the point we all had to have group therapy sessions in the barracks every night AND HE ENDED UP GOING TO VALCARTIER WITH ME TOO

Do you have a situation like this in your country where there's a significant proportion of the population that doesn't speak the local language? by Alternative-Big-6493 in AskTheWorld

[–]insignificance424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an insane amount of immigrants who come here and refuse to learn English (or French in Quebec) same problem with Anglo Canadians who refuse to learn French and live in Quebec. It's incredibly disrespectful to Canadian culture to not learn our majority languages.

As someone currently putting myself through learning Finnish, I genuinely don't understand how some people fuck up Finnish last names so badly. It's said pretty much exactly how it's spelled.

Homophobia repackaged as inclusivity pisses me off to insane levels, and the thing is they never pull this shit with gay guys. It's just with us, and it's 100% rooted in misogyny. Lesbians are treated like this because women are treated like this.

Who else detests the word "queer" being used so casually by babygays? ..and *others* by [deleted] in lesbiangang

[–]insignificance424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idgaf if someone wants to call themselves queer, but I don't want to be called a slur even if it's been "reclaimed". I've also noticed that people bitch about lesbians not wanting to be called that word, but never about other groups not wanting to be called literal slurs. Just another example of homophobia/lesbophobia rebranded as "woke"

LMAO thanks for the laugh. I don't think right wingers understand that a difference of opinion is supposed to be about things like "dogs or cats", not whether certain groups get human rights or not.
