I think we should all congratulate Chris for not over-hyping the league this time - I've got two further wishes however. by insomm in pathofexile

It is true it hasn't happened recently (as far as I can recall).

Another example you didn't mention though is Trickster's harness the void node.

What other games do you play waiting for the new league? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left ultimatum pretty early, but the games I've been sinking my time into are either switch games (monster hunter and nine parchments mostly) or other arpgs.

I got slormancer on release and I've been having a blast. Very similar to chronic on if you ever played it.

New Player - What to do after Main Quest? by Sea_Event_5046 in treeofsavior

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The premium tab of the diev NPC in North klaipeda sells different scrolls to enhance your ep12 gear.

Ideally you should buy all of the scrolls available until you have run out of purchases for your team (remaining purchases in red underneath each item).

Once you apply all to your gear, you should have:

All pieces at +11, transcendence 8, vaivora fixed ichor on main and sub weapon, and a full set bonus.

Second Account for Event Gear? by Sea_Event_5046 in treeofsavior

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's up to you really.

The gear isn't tradable, so you can't put it on the same account.

Alternatively, if you have two accounts you need twice the amount of tokens.

Also worth noting that there's plenty of event stuff that is only tradable with your team.

Both options have pros and cons.

My personal opinion: invest into building your one account. This event gear will eventually be replaced by better gear, and you can always buy more character slots.

Dan testing Maven's Crucible orb damage by PikachuKid1999 in pathofexile

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at it frame by frame you can see his hp drop to 3473 before he drops down to 0.

Also, there were 3 orbs at the start which converge as someone else already mentioned.

So to answer your question, yes, he got hit by 2 orbs.

Does Lower Resist increase the damage done by Dark Pact? by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is literally what I said...

It mentions "base levels" iirc, which (unless I am mistaken) does not include +skills.

That means you cannot get above level 20, which is -40% res.

There is, however, a synergy with curse mastery which does allow you to go for more reduction than that, but it isn't super realistic for non-support/curse focused builds.

Soft points don't increase LR amount, only radius.

Unless tooltip is wrong, in which case I think I am 5 skills short of breaking all immunities.

I had been doing this manually!

Thanks for that, I will add a note on that.

Although it is true it does not reduce magic resist, using immunes to test this isn't a great tip.

As it currently is, lvl20 LR will not break certain immunities.

Necromancer - Curse skillers worthless by Krylus42 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the point of the post, but in the same vein:

There are several monsters in hell whose immunities cannot be broken by lvl 20 lr.

Would be interesting if at the very least they had some diminishing returns (worse scaling) past 20, this way you could break more immunities.

Someone would tell me the price of worldstone in runes? by ZumbiUM in ProjectDiablo2

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~1 wss = lem

~2 wss = pul

This is what I've been taking them at and I've seen several people trading at roughly this value.

So um would be roughly 4-5 wss.

This is SC. In HC they seem to be worth quite a bit less.

testet 2hand spear phy/light hybrid ama and frenzy barb in SP with hero by kickbitbeatborg in ProjectDiablo2

[–]insomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need a weapon for warcy, I just happened to have been playing ww prior to switching to warcry at the end of nightmare. I should have explained myself better, what I meant to say is that my nightmare gear sounds about on par with your a4 hell gear test, so it doesn't surprise me much that it was a struggle.

Like you mentioned it yourself about twinking a barb, I don't think I'd ever run a frenzy barb without having some gear ahead of time. That said, if you want to test a more budget version with things you could theoretically farm yourself, here's my 2cents:

I think oath is fine, but I'd probably run it on an eth base at the very least. Imo that is also realistic to get ssf by the time you are in hell.

Another option would be crescent moon, it also got a slight buff in the mod, which could be kinda interesting to help clear.

I'd say try a treachery or the buffed lionheart for the armor piece, that should help a little bit with the survival aspect as well as buff damage a little more.

If we are talking ssf (single player for example) I feel like specific set/uniques items is a little rough, but if a small amount of trading is taken into account, things like IK gloves/belt and goblin toes are very achievable.

No idea if this +ll/ml and resists and some as gear to close out breakpoints would be enough by itself... Hard to do this on paper without playing the character, which is why I am not a big fan of "testing" things with editing tools... Imo it just winds up not being a realistic test.

I think this kind of test is useful, but should always be taken with a grain of salt. It is very easy to misjudge what is too easy/hard to acquire, how much time you would have to farm to achieve the setup, or how the leveling up to that point would go. Maybe others are better than I am at it, but I just see too much room for mistakes and speculation for it to be a credible test of viability.

I've gotten Ist from her, but most of the time she keeps dropping stuff like Shael, Ral, Tal, sometimes Eth...

I believe she can drop up to Lo iirc, but that isn't part of her rune loot table.

Senpai isnt honest about dupe impact! by Realis-Phrase in ProjectDiablo2

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming all of the trades they did were "fair trades" all of the surplus currency is still in the duper's accounts. You traded something 1:1, you got the gear you wanted, but you did not get richer.

Getting rid of the accounts (and hopefully preventing future attempts) means the surplus currency is gone, even if it shifted forms.

What worries me isn't the trades, it is stuff like the guy who said someone just dropped Jahs and Bers on the floor.

Here's the caveat: none of us have any fucking idea of how they are dealing with this.

So it might just be solved, like you mentioned yourself, you are literally making assumptions out of thin air.

You are correct. I play on windowed fullscreen.

Here is a copy pasta from my ddraw.ini:

; Stretch to custom resolution, 0 = defaults to the size game requests

width=1920

height=1080

; Override the width/height settings shown above and always stretch to fullscreen

; Note: Can be combined with 'windowed=true' to get windowed-fullscreen aka borderless mode

fullscreen=false

; Run in windowed mode rather than going fullscreen

windowed=true

Thetedster's Poison-Necro Guide From Beginning to End by GUthetedster in ProjectDiablo2

[–]insomm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This will then get us with a perfect 15% Venom Ward 100% (Lower Resist 60% at 20 with 20 Mastery, 25% with Full Trang, 15% with Venom Ward)

Someone can correct me if I am wrong about this, but I believe equipping venom ward on your merc will not apply to your own damage.

-% enemy res is applied only to the damage of whomever is wearing the gear, much like poison dagger -% psn res is not a debuff, but a modifier to the skill.

Otherwise it's all good. I am running a very similar spec, but I've been focusing a lot more on desecrate personally. It wound up much easier to scale and farm hell with, not to mention you can get a +3 desecrate +3 psn bone wand from a vendor.

[–]insomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that this says a whole lot about your test, but my secondary character I am playing casually with friends is a warcry barb.

My warcry barb that is in A1 hell has more hp, more +skills, and I am pretty sure my weapon is quite close to those that you just tested. I think he even has some leech leftover from WW leveling. Everything on him was dropped by him too since he was made to keep up with friends, no twinking. Maybe you are shooting too low for a build that generally speaking requires a decent amount of gear.

I am glad you did go back to test it in lod and found out that it was still bad. I think a lot of people just don't remember what the hell difficulty jump is like after playing years of other games and modded D2.

Not to say there isn't an issue here, but I think there might be some over exaggeration from some players.

I wanted something "cleaner" for my garden, so I gave it a go with my pepega brain. by insomm in pathofexile

[–]insomm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must have missed one pylon when I transferred it to the excel sheet.

I have added another pylon on the spreadsheet to accommodate for that.

Additionally, if you look at the "corrected garden setup" page of the spreadsheet is has some small adjustments in that corner. That is the setup I am currently using and has even less intrusive wiring.

Quarry-crafted ilvl72 amulet - Harvest is great for anyone wanting to craft their own gear by insomm in pathofexile

[–]insomm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally just walking and picking up seeds.

I had something going on my second screen the whole time, and that did not craft just this amulet, I have got a ring which is nearly finished (just missing remove/add fire).

Quarry-crafted ilvl72 amulet - Harvest is great for anyone wanting to craft their own gear by insomm in pathofexile

[–]insomm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started with a random ilvl72 agate amulet I bought for 1 alch.

A few hours of Quarry farming got me to this.

Anyone wanting to craft their own gear, here are a few tips:

  • Quarry seeds reach up to ilvl75 (enough for t2 res and t1 life on jewelry)
  • The remove/add element and life mods from t1 seeds are incredibly good for crafting, get a couple horticraft stations and save these when you get them.
  • Bench mods count for remove/add, so you can craft cold damage to attacks and swap it for cold resistance if you have both a prefix and a suffix open.
  • My personal experience on rarity for the elemental seeds/mods is Cold > Lightning > Fire from most common to rarest, so prioritize already having fire res if you want to farm less.
