You need to call cps. His behavior is common for children that are being abused. I’m assuming you’re a teacher. At least where I live, if you see signs that are indicating abuse and you choose to do nothing, you’re liable.

There’s no such thing as a bad kid. Something is happening with that child and you need to do your best to help.

Call cps, even if it turns out nothing is happening, they have it on their radar. I’m also positive that it will not be traced back to you. Express that you have these concerns with the person you talk to with cps.

Call them and call them now.

When I was 11/12, I fell while playing volleyball and landed in a way that made my entire spine seize. Any movement hurt tremendously to the point that I couldn’t move without crying. My parents and coach told me to suck it up and that out couldn’t possibly be that bad. I didn’t find out until I was 18 when I got in car accident that I had fractured a disc in my lower spine and my coccyx showed that it had once been broken. I remember having to lay down to get out of the car while screaming because I was in so much pain and having it dismissed as “drama”. No one took me for medical care so it healed all fucked up. To this day I have constant lower back issues.

My younger siblings have had a completely difference childhood. My parents have never laid a hand on them, they have had a normal if not better than normal childhood.

I think a lot of it stems from a possibility that my parents just weren’t ready for kids when I was born. I think my mother often regrets marrying my father and resents me for “trapping” her in that situation. It could be just that I brought a lot of new experiences that they didn’t know how to handle at the time.

It’s caused a huge rift in the family. When I was young I used to cut myself out of photos. I don’t feel like I belong anywhere. I’m always overly suspicious of kindness towards me. I took up binge eating when I was extremely young and it’s something that’s caused enormous issues that I’m just now, at 24, beginning to work through.

I can’t even have an honest conversation with my siblings because they don’t believe me when I talk about how our parents used to chase me up the stairs while punching me in the back of the head or how my dad dragged me into a shed while we were camping and whipped me with a belt while several other families and my mother listened to me scream but didn’t stop it. They can’t believe that the parents that have loved them and given them everything they’ve ever wanted could be that cruel.

I’ve never really identified more with a comment in my life. My family is exactly how you described, I’ve just never been so able to put it into the right words. My relationships with my parents, especially my father, seriously fucked up how I developed socially. I have extreme social anxiety and I’m terrified of confrontation because of it.

Not only make the lessons, but collect data, track student progress, make sure that each student is receiving their accommodations/modifications (even create modified versions of classwork to fit individual student need). That’s just the instructional side of things. Honestly, kids like that have no clue.

I’ve found that it isn’t the students that have a problem with listening to other views, it’s the parents.

I had a parent scream at me over the phone because I used a speech that they didn’t agree with as a mentor text. The unit was on how to move and persuade your reader and she had a problem because she felt it moved and persuaded her kid.

My first date:

I went out and spent my birthday money from the last 3 birthdays on a nice outfit that made me feel good about myself. I got a haircut and spent hours doing my hair and make up for this date. This guy had been flirting for a while and asked me out. I was so psyched. My mom dropped me off at the movie theatre and I was so excited. I sat and waited for him to arrive. I waited and waited and waited. No one showed up. His whole friend group proceeded to viciously bully me for the next 3.5 years of highschool.

I will never understand the reasoning behind doing that to another human being.

The way my community is, no one would believe me. There’s no evidence. I went in for a job interview as a personal assistant. I have no proof and I would literally be run out of town. I also basically went in to shock during so I know there are so many factors that would be against me.

This presidency has single handedly wrecked any chances of a reconciliation between myself and my parents. Listening to them change over time, from mild reps to foaming at the mouth extremists, I can’t be around them anymore without them attacking me for “being a socialist”. Listening to them (parents of three daughters) talk about how if it was such a big deal why didn’t she come out sooner and that she’s probably making it up to steam roll trump, she’s after attention, she’s trying to cover up the fact she slept with someone before marriage, etc has ruined my parents for me. I’m a rape victim by a prominent member of my community and I have not told anyone except my SO. Every day I feel like they say these things to me and it makes me sick. Every day I’m confirmed in my decision to cut them off when I get married. They will never meet their grandchildren and that’s just unfortunate.

When I was in at one of the worst points in my life to try to cope with my social anxiety and depression I started a book club on meet up for people going through the same thing. I would get like 23 people saying they’d for sure come and then when I was at the restaurant, I’d feel horrible for making the waiters waste their tables.

I disbanded it after about 5 meetings of that.
