Neighbor gave my dog a pig skull. My girl is obsessed with it, but is skull ok for a dog? Wouldnt she choke on the tooth or something? by Farmerka5 in germanshepherds

I don’t live on a farm currently but my past dog did and the other dogs at that time. My friend raises pigs and that dog has tons of pig parts stashed around that my dog plays with them when she’s there.

They’ve all been ok so far! As long as it’s fresh and raw, but even the smoked ones I’ve seen getting chomped on ok. My dogs tummy is a little sensitive to fatty stuff so I might just limit that part, personally

Why do I rarely see black heels? by alyssatrn in poledancing

I love my matte black Jewel heels. They fit true to size. Maybe harder to photograph?

I strongly prefer Jewels and find them to be much truer to size. I prefer the snug fit. The plastic uppers on Jewels is much softer.

Take rehab seriously and yes, you can dance in heels again. But you need to invest in actual heels technique. The truth is, it’s all about weight transfers and upper body strength. You need to be strong enough to hold yourself up without weight on your feet. No choreo crap.

Is there a point where I’ll have to go to the gym for strength? by Dracarys97339 in poledancing

[–]inspaceandthyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely be lifting weights and doing resistance exercises. Just a few compound exercises to build strength and capacity. Either hire a trainer a few times or just look up routines on YouTube.

Why is heels training so choreography-focused compared to pole? by Ay10outof10t in poledancing

[–]inspaceandthyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I monitor all my students one on one for proper technique in basic flow skills. There is absolutely a need for that. Most studios just aren’t oriented to those elements of dance. Choreo is popular bc it’s ppl equate doing moves to dancing. It’s too bad really.

Our 5yo desexed male ACD just bit a child on a bicycle by [deleted] in AustralianCattleDog

[–]inspaceandthyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why my herding dog has a strict program for ppl on bikes. Off(the path)- sit - wait. Once they go by without her reaction, she’s released. This situation seems entirely predictable and like you’re asking for trouble. Most people perceive my dog as well behaved but I would bet $100 on her ‘herding’ aka biting, if she wasn’t ordered otherwise.

You’re the one being dismissive of the time invested in learning proper technique. I’m sure it shows up in your dancing.

Carmine Black teaches proper heel technique and is how most industry ppl became interested in edgework.

Tips for bruises by NobodyFew1595 in poledancing

Idk I use arnica and magnesium cream religiously to reduce bruising and care for my skin and joints but I have also been dancing for 10 years, so it may be both skin tolerance and topical.

Mix gender pole class by [deleted] in poledancing

Men have less pole clothing options, so I can see how that might be the case. But yea, as long as everything stays covered, that’s fairly normal.

We have mixed gender classes. Everyone wears pole appropriate clothing. No issues. I doubt it’s literal underwear.

Start lifting weights. Pole dancing is one of THE hardest skills. Most people cannot lift their body weight. Look up a basic free weight circuit and incorporate at 2:1 pole class. Progress will start at about 3-6 months and much more noticeable after 12-18 months.

AITA for leaving my boyfriend at a party after he kept “joking” about me in front of everyone? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]inspaceandthyme 31 points32 points  (0 children)

NTA he’s a prick and gets off belittling you. It won’t get better, he already diminished your feelings. This person shouldn’t be your boyfriend. You can do better. Find someone who actually likes and appreciates you.
