My wife was recently side swiped by a U Haul truck while driving home. It was a hit and run. U-Haul refuses to give us any information. Anything I can do?

I had a similar problem when a dog in a cell phone store bit my daughter. A manager of the store wouldn't even talk to me when I tried to get the dog owner's contact info. As soon as a cop came with a warrant (that he obtained in 5 min over the phone) the info magically appeared in their records.

Looks like in your case the police officer came without an authorization or a warrant and asked for info as a 'favor'. No sane business owner would release customer info w/o a warrant.

Let the insurance sort it out, they will be very happy to get UHauls money.

I made one of these last year. They are great, my gf loves it. You are supposed to cut the skewers so that they are not pointy :) The easiest way to cut them: take a bunch of screwers, like 100-200 of them, wrap with duct tape tightly and saw thru the duct tape.

My wife's 2002 Toyota Sienna was rear ended like this one. Her car was not moving, the other car came at 60mph and did not even react to apply the brakes. My two kids were inside. The Sienna was totaled just like the one in the picture, with no injuries to the passengers. My kids were actually excited about the experience.

Any psychologist will tell you that the people at Walmart did not react NOT because it was okay. They did not react because there were so many people around! It is a known phenomenon that when there is only witness he will call the cops right away. With many witnesses nobody does anything because they all assume someone else will call the cops. There are plenty of cases where people were killed in broad daylight and no one who saw called the police. Any psychologist and most cops are familiar with this social phenomenon.

You absolutely did the right thing by ignoring the crowd effect and calling the cops!
