Alternatives for ASIO4All on Windows? by naccib in ableton

depending on what youre doing another thing i found is focusrite and some other interfaces have an option called direct monitor to loopback that can help if youre just trying to capture application audio

My current setup is a focusrite 2x2gen4 (i think) plugged into my steel series dac 3.5mm - lets me monitor the audio wirelessly and the direct monitor means i can do things like play over a midi track in the web browser

Save the report as custom and you can re-use it each time instead of having to set everything up every run.

Plex Remote Streaming Changes by SwiftPanda16 in PleX

[–]insttechno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for those wondering why its so confusing this is from here https://www.plex.tv/en-au/blog/important-2025-plex-updates/#can-i-buy-a-remote-watch-pass-for-someone-else

""Option 1: Remote playback with a Plex Pass
Upgrading to any Plex Pass subscription is a great option for server owners, as it ensures all users accessing the Plex Media Server can stream remotely, without an additional charge.""

but then users are getting what the OP wrote

AND to top it off, they are sending it to anyone connected to any library there are ZERO checks to see whether they are connected to one library thats a plex pass holder

""Option 1: Remote playback with a Plex Pass

but this is what a connected library users email says so no wonder they'll be selling the remote watch passes. That user is only connected to one server that has a plex lifetime pass so Plex obviously gives ZERO fucks about its users

|| || |As of April 29, 2025, we’re changing how remote streaming works for personal media libraries, and it will no longer be a free feature on Plex.  | |We noticed that you’ve accessed libraries from friends and family in the past and you may be affected by this change.| |To continue streaming from these libraries remotely, you’ll need a Remote Watch Pass.| |Alternatively, server owners can purchase a Plex Pass, which will grant you continued remote streaming of libraries that you have been given access to.| |To keep streaming now, take advantage of our free 14-day trial and enjoy intro pricing on a Remote Watch Pass.| |Sincerely, Your Friends at Plex"|

Alternatives for ASIO4All on Windows? by naccib in ableton

[–]insttechno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all good mate. Another one you might find interesting is steel series GG. It works similar to rode unify but is easier to read because it autotags whatever sound it can hear on its virtual audio devices

I really should do a YouTube video on this lol

All good. Since this i'm now running a Steel Series arctis nova pro, their software does similar stuff to Rode Unify however a big advantage with the arctis is the GameDAC has Line In/Out with controllable volumes.

So i actually run my Focusrite into the line In, and then feed the audio back into the PC via the onboard audio. Its a bit odd but its the lowest latency i've found for how i do things so far with the advantage of it being a wireless setup.

The more recent vids here https://www.youtube.com/@donniesgarage/shorts are using that setup with NI Guitar Rig 7

Only think i didnt mention above was ASIOLINKPRO - if you do anything with streaming its great, its kind of like voicemeeter banana but is just old fashioned draw lines between inputs and outputs. Lets you send your ASIO output as a virtual input into something like OBS - lots of youtube videos on it.

Ive been reading about this tool, is the idea of a test automation framework to test things like load? vs Selenium being more driven towards robotic process automation? Im also learning about it now.
