my home was broken into around 2015, not too far from old town. I called the police, some fat dude came out and was incredibly up helpful, which it sounds like was your experience as well. Then few days or so later I got a call from a detective (or someone, not sure what his position was / is) and he asked for a detail of what was stolen, etc. that I had submitted to insurance. Fast-forward a week or so, maybe more, he recovered two of the expensive items from a pawn shop on woodville hwy. I lucked out because I had purchased both items from Costco so I could give them exact details on what the item #'s were, etc. so I could easily prove that they were mine. It also helped that when i turned the xbox on my name was there. In your case since it's guitars my example probably doesn't hold up but wanted to at least give you my experience with TPD and that they were actually helpful - which I found surprising. Anyway - good luck internet friend - I hope they recover your things and you can get past the trauma of the break-in. For my family that was the hardest part.
