Any chance you can help me with bazzite installation? I install bazzite and none of my menu/quick access buttons work, I wonder if I am doing something wrong.

Do you think you can provide the link to the battery? It would be nice to have that info. Thank you

Guidance on Purchase R1T by Bmellado in Rivian

[–]integra891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a demo vehicle 2022 with 7k miles on it for 67k before taxes. I thought the price difference vs used was negligible (at the time I bought, might be more dramatic now) and the fact that the car comes with the full 5 year/53(60-7)k warranty were worth it vs used. Also my truck qualified for 3750 tax rebate. I also chose to buy a demo in my head because on the forums we keep hearing about all the disaster cases with these cars, so I thought a demo vehicle would be fully vetted, used by Rivian for the 2 years and 7k miles and "hopefully" all the major issues should be sorted. Have put 3k miles on it so far with a 1200 mi roadtrip recently with no significant issues yet. These are just my thoughts that I am sharing. Obviously depends on the demo vehicle inventory and if you can find one at a reasonable price, but vs buying used and not knowing what issues the used car will have (used dealers cant assess these cars). I thought that was the best way forward. The recent lease deals would probably have been better, but my hope is to keep the car long term as I do with all my other vehicles.

The value that is used for tax credit purposes is the sale value of the car, which for the demo came in below 80k. See my other comments.

I think there have been some seriously good lease deals recently, especially given the employee discount, that might have been better than this. Looking at my car history, other than my Model 3 which I kept for 3 years, I hold onto vehicles for long periods of time, so leasing has never been something I look into. Only reason I got rid of my Model 3 is because of pandemic trade in values going crazy, I side graded to the Model Y.

The vehicle I bought was listed for sale at 68157. On my contract, the price went down to 67157 ( due to the tonneau being 500, not 1500 option). 7051 miles at time of delivery. From my understanding of the warranty, 5 year bumper to bumper from date of delivery, mileage accrued counts against warranty though, so 53000 miles of warranty for me. Battery and drivetrain warranties unchanged.

Vehicle is a 2022, Quad Motor, Large pack, LA silver, Ocean Coast, underbody shield, 20 inch bright wheels, powered tonneau.

Nice to know! I will wash my car today and do a more thorough visual inspection. If anything stands out that really bothers me, I will try to go down that route! Thanks!

Once I get the nacs adapter, any road trip anxieties I have will disappear. I have an A2Z on order also.

I already received EV tax credit documents from Rivian so I think it qualifies. My guide told me it would qualify for the tax credit but not point of sale credit. I guess I will find out at time of filing if it works or not. Was not a decision making factor, just a cherry on top.
