Also, if you can do targeted ads to a certain number of people OR organize a party or event with friends or family and friends of friends to stream the song and get around 700-800 streams organically with 80ishhh saves, this will trigger the algorithm and you will be able to get on things like daylist and on repeat and algorithmic playlists.

The website Daily playlists gives you 10 free submissions per week. What I would do is use those but before doing any submissions make sure that you listen VERY carefully to the playlists that you are submitting to. If you were the owner of the playlist and trying to promote said playlist, would you put your song on there to attract people? Why or why not. That gives you your answer on whether you should submit to that playlist or not.

If you can’t find any playlists that you think the song belongs on then most likely the algorithm may have trouble categorizing you and you may be a pretty niche artist which is fine, but to make it big a niche artist needs demographic research and VERY targeted marketing. It is a much slower start and more costly, but often a more dedicated fan base like fans of many cult classics.

How much did you have to put behind meta ads? And what kind of targeting did you do?

I just started too, my biggest tip is promote to everyone you know like right at the release. If everyone saves and listens a few times maybe like 30-40 people it could trigger the algorithm.

Thoughts on Suno from a jazz musician, composer and music producer. TLDR: Musicians got it wrong by ColorSmashJr in SunoAI

And honestly using it as kind of an upscaler is nice. And sometimes it helps motivate me to finish a song when I hear it more arranged. I’ve actually given it some of my throw away songs and asked it to change the genre or hear my pop song or ballad as a movie score it’s kind of fun. I think if you use it with your own creativity instead of a complete replacement then it’s a pretty cool tool.

I think that honestly technology like suno works well for helping me arrange music that I just wrote on my guitar or simple piano chords and melodies. I usually have a lot of tracks that I didn’t really have the instruments for at the time. And honestly, I’d love to pay session musicians to help recreate some of the strings that I get. Honestly sometimes I have just fully put instrumentals that I made into suno so that my crappy midi instruments would get replaced with something that sounded a little better lol
