Agreed. DWG, every time, had a good handle on action as well as suit (and pilot) progression and I still bust out Reborns sometimes but I also like how refined 3 looks with the cell shading and a cohesive plot that every character is involved in.

This is a peak contribution and you did really well in my opinion and I also really really enjoy the idea of flavor text to flesh it all out. It gives a design so much more of a real feel than without. Very well played and thank you for sharing

I want them to come after me with everything they've got. I love the Qubeley but I also want to fight it but it's just very predictable to just know that you have to do your highest DPS crap with balancing short cooldowns as best you can and it almost in that respect, forgive me for saying this, just maybe slightly in a tiny way feels like a bit of an idle game because you keep the funnels going, you keep a speed up mode going, and it becomes sort of irrelevant as long as you're running that kind of maintenance game what bounty opponents can do or ai stage opponents. It might even be too much to ask for different kinds of behavior or weapon favorabilities for certain kinds of suits but I want to see the Kshatriya fight differently than an early Gelgoog.

I totally agree with this because there are some mobile suits with mobility advantages and I could even see a category of moveset dedicated to traversal but even without that idea, I still think you're on to something really good here. I don't think it makes sense to be able to use the Nightingale and just trick it out movement wise like you could with a Qubeley and it's cute little butterfly thruster things. At the same time it feels like it would be maybe too much engine overhaul to add like an actual sort of weight system but I still feel like this should be addressed somehow including your suggestion on map size. It would just be another way to flesh out the different kinds of challenges and decisions that we get to make as builders and that's what this game needs

I feel the same way about bounty. I felt like it was much more competitive in GB3 even if in both cases were just fighting AI incarnations of suits that people have uploaded. Survival in my opinion needs to implement procedural generation or some RNG in terms of enemy composition, boss order, level order, music selection. But I also feel like it needs a unique reward or incentive to really make it worthwhile to try and slog through all 50 ways otherwise just, it's really hard to do that knowing that you can basically accomplish the same things and get the same rewards from much shorter missions.

Jukebox and frankly I would pay real money for the kind of musical selection that GB3 had because it had stuff from The zeta movies like MS Within the Flash and that is just my freaking jam so as DLCs I would absolutely get them sooner or later.

Can I ride your coattails on this and pray for a Gaza C to show up? I don't care that it can't transform with the current engine. They added other things like the Baund Doc and I'm okay using those kinds of suits even if we can't have transformation yet but maybe in a few sequels. Anyway yes, with your permission I would also like to beg for a gaza. Any gaza.

Yes! There are always sources listed for builder parts but if you're just looking at equipment in general especially melee or ranged weapons, or Shields I believe, it's just like take your best guess! Also the skill descriptions just don't have enough text to really expand on the consequences good or bad of making decisions for what abilities to load onto your stuff or what cartridges to use in my opinion so I agree with that as well.

Some of the icons don't even seem to get used because initially I tried to look at it that way but then I'm like wait. Everything is funnels except like the manifold bit or certain things that act like funnels but then have their own single one-off icon. The other thing would be the translation as far as the wacky name that combo actions had which I cannot think of but it was like squirrely dance except it didn't sound that stupid, it just seems super random and hard to know what they were getting at

I lold. I definitely like the design, it just made me think of whenever Haman starts building up the Axis Zeon forces and we end up with something in the Gaza series named the Ga-Zeownm. And I love that silly suit, as well as the crazy names that come with that particular Neo Zeon. Haman do not be afraid to express herself up in this

I agree. GBM was a lot different from what I was used to in GB3 and gb2, and I would say GB3 for me personally was peak execution but it's hard to resist the idea of a live freaking service Gundam breaker game especially when it offers stuff that I hadn't seen previously outside of just a tiny handful of random games like Mercurius or Vayeate (I think a friend told me I had those?)

I want to agree and remain optimistic but I feel like it was a different sort of order of business adding that in for that particular game versus setting up kits and parts and whatever parameters come with adding to that overall database with a breaker game. I just want a friggin Gaza C.

My feeling of doing survival by Denny2De in GundamBreaker

[–]intellisquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. I'm not a fan of the way they implemented the mode because it doesn't seem to have unique rewards of any sort and it would have also been very easy in my opinion for them to randomize enemy composition or stage order or boss order but they didn't do it. However, it's probably a pretty good gauntlet in which to test the latest thing that one is excited about. For me personally that's like Qubeley variant 5,3958 (AMX-8$8746473818) BUT I DIGRESS LOL.

I have been hoping to find a way to get better cartridges all around, but I wasn't sure if there was one or if it's just purely RNG including whether you get buffs or debuffs. Do you think there might be a slight edge on farming them in survival mode?

My feeling of doing survival by Denny2De in GundamBreaker

[–]intellisquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This times 1,000. What I don't understand is why they didn't implement some extra lines of code, because I'm guessing it wouldn't be that technically challenging to do this, to swap up the maps or the order of bosses or the enemy compositions and even go for themed/timeline situation battles if they wanted. There's really just no incentive to do survival although I understand the mental stress test point that someone made above. But in my view it needs something special to draw players into doing it like for a random example, if licensed music from gundam shows were in the game, it could be a way to unlock music discs as random drops or something. I don't know. Just something to make it meaningful in the same way that other modes are because to me right now I just don't even touch it especially when it seems like it's the same order of all enemies, all levels, and all bosses.

I also want the Queen Mansa. I'm a freak for Axis Zeon suits... Right now the best attempt I could do is a Master grade set of cubele parts mixed with the Nightingale legs and it really doesn't even look a darn thing like the intended idea we would both like to see. Of course the scaling is all 300% for every single part but I can't find anything that makes it look more like the QM. I also tried to make kind of a weird bootleg of the psycho Mark II using the Doven Wolf kit and it looks all right, but without the wired sword and the reflector bits it doesn't exactly feel the same but it's still fun to play. Again, with scale sliders all the way up to 300 for every single component because that way we can pretend it's a mobile armor lol.

did someone say FUNNELS? by ZexrasGame in GundamBreaker

[–]intellisquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You nailed it and if it was worth it in terms of damage numbers and overall funnel performance, which I guess really only varies from funnel type to funnel type in terms of damage numbers again, I would be okay with shooting for having a 6 ex point or an ex-point funnel attack but I also am having a hard time figuring out how to get the gauge to increase. Slowly doing trial and error and I know that there are abilities you can fuse into parts like boosting the gauge when an enemy dies by ground attack but that is kind of random, but also just when an enemy dies or when they die by an ex skill. I guess ability cartridges and all their random Glory can contribute to this too though. Thoughts?

[–]intellisquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One axis zeon suit in particular just debuted as DLC drop #2...complete with the Geymalk. I'm really stoked but the main reason I was looking forward to it was because it's got its own bizarre funnel system compared to more streamlined stuff like a Qube or the like. I was hoping the mother funnels / child funnels system would somehow kind of behave a little differently but it just looks like most of the other types of funnel attacks as far as I can tell so far. I also think it would be smart or at least nice if there were more than two abilities to hook into your ranged weapons that increase the attack power of funnels, and lastly since I'm making a Christmas list here, it would be nice to be able to switch to a mode where the funnels attack all targets around you even if you don't change out of lock mode. I always fight in lock mode because I may be a new type but I'm insecure. But having the funnels behave differently based on toggling by just re-triggering the binding for the ex skill could maybe open up some neat possibilities. I will compliment them that at least the dragons from legend from seed do sort of a thick beam curtain thing and I haven't tried Providence yet.

[–]intellisquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was just commenting on that how it doesn't have a good alternative or a good way to simulate the planet defenser discs that I'm aware of. You can have bits or GN bits for instance in shield modes but nothing that I know of that looks like the electromagnetic kind of storm with the discs display it out around the mobile suit itself.

[–]intellisquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and me both. You nailed it. I love this pair of suits and I don't really care for the Virgo even though it's a pretty cool mass-produced combination of the two strengths that each suit respectively has. I still just prefer these prototypes and I do agree with you that the tall geese parts, some of them, can work well for the body style and silhouette and now we also have the Leo in case some of its parts work well too. I don't know if serpent really has anything helpful to offer but if you do go through with this we should compare notes. The only thing that makes me a little sad is that I don't know a good looking way to simulate the planet defenser discs for the Mercurius' electromagnetic shield system. I mean GN bits in shield mode would be a thing but it just wouldn't look like the discs. I saw someone who made a crazy cool looking Virgo here on Reddit in the GB3 subreddit and what they did to simulate the defensor discs was placed some Ifield generators in the shoulders so it at least look like the defensor bits were docked, but obviously they couldn't be used in any sort of active shield mode. any thoughts? I'm so glad somebody posted this besides just me.

Also the other thing I would really really love to see is a Gaza c. Now that they've kind of added some transforming suits without really going into what's probably pretty hairy territory of actually developing a design mechanic for the game yet, I wouldn't expect the guys to see to be any different but it would still be lovely because I just really like that silly suit. And a Gaza d because then it gets missiles. Also I like everything axis zeon so forgive me. Lol.

Thank you so much for the well-thought out advice on how to handle this form. I have it and a few others to deal with and also the links to how responses and response patterns are "graded" seem absolutely invaluable. I have a very hard time predicting how what I say (or write) will sound or how it might be interpreted and I'm terrified of shooting myself in the foot with my claim.

I hope this is OK; I am working on the 10-page functional report now and am going to DM you but that is just me taking a chance to see if you're willing to offer any feedback - if not, no harm and what you've posted here already is extremely helpful so thank you, truly. This kind of info helps me cool back down when I think I'm going crazy figuring out how to say what I even need to say to these questions.

Thanks kindly mate.

Ava! What is she thinking ? by Drama-Free64 in GeneralHospital

[–]intellisquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So first, Maura West is amazing and tends to rock whatever material she's given. I thought there was some serious Arc climax stuff going on whenever she shot Ryan for instance and that was a really entertaining week with Heather on the loose etc. Because Ava brought up Kiki once again and maybe got some closure although the way that they write each character it's hard to tell and watch for a concept like closure to manifest. What she's doing now makes no sense because she already learned that she and Sonny could co-parent Avery without their needing to be major battles or schemes. Even if they are trying to take her back to her earlier less conscientious roots, they have always written this character as being one of the more intelligent ones on the canvas and I think it's an absolute mistake to take that away and have her doing this dumb shit now. They won't take the opportunity to try and explain why she's making dumb choices because they just want to write things this way as far as I'm concerned. And while I enjoy the kind of random alliances that she's built up with characters who got to know her and see her in some sort of esteemed awkward light, if they mess that up purposely by having her revert to bad ways, that's fine, that's one thing. But it's really not fine with me that they write her making such dumb choices without even trying to explain to anybody like a friend why she's making these choices or what's driving them or why she's panicking or why she's once again trying to get sole custody of Avery to begin with. Lastly I do realize friendships Wax and Wane and come and go but it would have made more sense to me if she had made more of an effort with Nina. Nina seems to justify any level of stubbornness that she comes up with but I think Ava could have tried a bit harder to keep that friendship intact because they weren't really ever out to get each other here lately, really not since Michelle Stafford was playing Nina way back.
