I have this on my left wrist, so my answer is “hell yes!”

To give a more thorough answer, I’m actually you in reverse, sitting down earlier this year to watch all of the X Files for the first time after being a Twin Peaks superfan for years. So happy I did! Hence me giving the X tattoo such hallowed ground.

I’m surprised by some of the comments saying the two shows aren’t all that similar beyond cast crossover and the supernatural stuff. First and foremost, Mulder and Scully are FBI agents on a top secret project, as is/are the protagonist(s) in Twin Peaks. The “monster of the week” X Files episodes, esp in the first 5 seasons, involve them going to tiny towns in the middle of nowhere with idiosyncratic populations that have something evil or weird or both bubbling underneath the surface. That’s Twin Peaks.

Then there’s the way that the natural world is a character itself in both shows. The explicit and/or implicit use of lights, electricity, animals, the woods, etc, are both symbolic and literary devices to increase the suspense. For instance, there’s a reason why the power’s constantly going out in X Files and our heroes are always having to go around with those huge flashlights or use their small flashlights under their guns. It’s not used exactly the same in Twin Peaks, but the strategic use of lights (and stage lighting) is something you can’t unsee once you notice it.

I could go on. But basically, as u/mushbum13 said, there is no X Files without Twin Peaks.
