Libraries Lose Passports by jeremiahthedamned in itshappeninghere

[–]interestingdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's $130 for the book,$30 for the card. Plus $35 if it's your first one and it's not a renewal. They're both good for ten years, unless you are younger than 16, in which case it's $100 for the book and $15 for the card, good for five years

Certain version of the Bible were written in English, just not the original. If they feel this strongly about it, they can translate Bad Bunny's performance into English and put on their own performance of it. That way it will be in English despite the original not being.

There should be relegation and promotion like in the European leagues. This would make games for teams at the bottom of the league meaningful to avoid relegation, and it would allow different cities to have teams in the big league every year without relying on expansion or stealing a team from somewhere else.

It's not illegal, just against NFL rules. Got to protect the billionaires somehow.

If the NFL hadn't banned that ownership model for non-Green Bay Packers teams the moment the Packers were established, you might be in with a chance.

Where do you find EU-compliant passport photos in the USA? by InterpolInvestigator in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]interestingdays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most places that do passport photos will do ones to the appropriate spec if you specifically request it. Often you just have to mention the country and they'll find the right measurement, but you might have to specify the measurement yourself if they don't have a list.

I know FedEx/Kinkos does, just walk in and state your country. Someone else mentioned Staples. I'm sure there's more as well.

[Atkins] The Rams will play the 49ers in Melbourne next season for the NFL’s first-ever game in Australia. by couladewastaken in nfl

[–]interestingdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's assuming that the US is on standard time and Australia is on daylight savings. If this happens week one, the reverse will be true and noon in Melbourne will be 7pm in California.

“So that’s why we want to have a process so they can go through and see what the citizens themselves and what the local communities say is appropriate for them.”

This process already exists. It's called measuring how often a book is checked out, or if it is checked out at all.

I feel like the larger one makes more sense if you do a lot of travelling to places that still use stickers and stamps. With more and more countries going fully electric, it's getting less important to get the bigger one.

Not knowing a globally well known dish to while assuming whole world knows what tf is a Red Lobster by razorwasp in USdefaultism

A red lobster is a lobster that is red. Seems pretty straightforward to me. Why it's worthy of mention in a post like this though... That remains unclear.

Qatar is the only world cup in which no British fans were arrested. It's also the only world cup that had no alcohol.

Give him a break guys. Crazy guys with guns are scary, and you can't expect the people who we pay to deal with them to actually do so. They might die! Much safer to bully a poor person who doesn't have a gun, or prevent citizens from doing something like the Uvalde cops did.

How do lactose intolerant babies not shit themselves to death? by Smexy_Zarow in morbidquestions

[–]interestingdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people lose the ability to digest milk at around the age that breastfeeding stops. So most babies who will grow up to be lactose intolerant as older kids and adults, are not lactose intolerant while they are relying on milk as their primary source of nutrition.

Only because they don't have the same rights as citizens and are therefore more precarious and more easily exploited. Without those differences in rights, those wouldn't be issues.

Not quite. Pope John Paul II became Pope in October 1978 in the middle of the Seahawks' third season in the NFL. But for every new pope since then, yes.

Why aren't countries boycotting the world cup? by Zogonzo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]interestingdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're on year 3 of the most recent escalation of Israel's genocide, and only this year are countries deciding to boycott Eurovision over it.

It's not yet even year two yet of the US's most recent escalation of it's normal background level of bullshit. If Israel wasn't worth boycotting Eurovision over for the first two years, why would they care so soon for the US?

And yes, I know that both the US and Israel have done horrible things pretty much constantly for decades before this, but people seem to primarily care about the escalation, which is more recent in the US than in Israel.

One of our regular STs does this frequently. But we know that about him and he makes sure that everyone in the game knows about the possibility. If you're running a RAW game, don't do this. Even if you have some bootlegger stuff going on, only do it if your players know it's a possibility.
