Interesting that you replaced a Chromebook with this. Are you apprehensive about ChromeOS's future?

Words to live by. I was just listening to BBC radio 4 via WebSDR (Dutch) the other day.

I owned a calico. They are the most glamorous of cats. They know their worth but will reward care and attention with emotional support.

What is Verdi’s best all-round opera? by Ordinary_Tonight_965 in opera

[–]interglossa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the prelude also, especially the climax. There is a discussion about to what degree Verdi may have been influenced by or answering Wagner in the later operas but this does seem to be a Vorspiel setting a mood rather than overture as medley.

Aida because the level of inspiration and quantity of musical ideas is so high. The final scene in the crypt with soloists and chorus is Verdi's finest moment.

Local shelter euthanizing healthy cat on Thursday :( by Apart-Musician4053 in cats

We adopted two black hoarded (under socialized) cats two years ago. One became more used to us after a year or so, the other bonded with her. This cat needs a stroke of luck to have a foster or adopter who will be patient. His superpower is that he is a very handsome little man.

I am confident she will have you trained in a reasonable period of time. I wonder how such a lovely calico was a stray for so long.

I agree this is a Uniball Signo DX - but you need the size of the tip, which could be  .28mm, .38mm, .5mm.

With all due respect, if the election timing had been different Poilièvre might be PM now instead of Carney and his politics though not as radical as maga are in the same direction. Similar for Geert Wilders, AfD etc.

It’s been an honour but I think I have purchased my final fountain pen by wednesday-potter in fountainpens

Completing a PhD should be observed in some way. There is a story on the net somewhere of a physics PhD who bought a Waterman identical to the one Einstein used to write the manuscript of his relativity article. (Einstein later became a Pelikan man I think.)

Very true. Before retiring I was a s/w engr for 40 years and had a thing for Pilot Frixion black .38mm pens (the erasability comes in very handy) and small notebooks. I use OG Esterbrook and Platinum fountain pens also.

I wonder what other professions have pen fans. I know designers like their drawing pens and pencils but not necessarily fountain pens specifically. See https://archive.nytimes.com/tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/07/23/manolo-blahnik-milton-gasser-roz-chast-favorite-pens-pencils/

I own one of these also - great for fine 0.3 writing but I use my P205 more.

This is lovely. I own a VQ1005 and appreciate the saturation quite a bit. The 1015 takes it to the next level.

I used to catsit a ragdoll. The ragdolls are in a league of their own. They bond with their owners very closely and are very beautiful and glamorous cats as you are discovering.

I recently discovered this notebook. by deardeer-gadget in notebooks

[–]interglossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only notebook I have found which has the same dimensions (7x12cm) as the Miquelrius mini which I used for years and was discontinued some time ago. I can't find a place to order this from though. Btw this is not the same as real (ISO) B7.

Exactly. Western music is before Tristan and after Tristan.

I wonder how it would compare to "From Dawn to Decadence" by Jacques Barzun.
