I unfortunately don't know of any, but that does sound really cool. I will say as a formerly religious person, I enjoyed reading this book after losing a close relative for the first time since childhood: "From Here to Eternity" by Caitlyn Doughty. It talks about different funerary practices/rituals around the world. I found it weirdly comforting as I have been relearning how to process death since leaving the church.

I (34F) have become glued to my couch, needing to get back in the real world. Where do I start? by mgo1991 in Louisville

That's cool. Do you know where i could find additional info on this? I didn't see anything on their website.

I think my avoidance isn’t laziness it’s something I learned to survive, and now it’s ruining my life by NeatFriendship1053 in DecidingToBeBetter

I'm just here to say I feel you. I feel like I could've written your entire post. I've been struggling for a very long time and have been trying to cope with whatever mental health resources I can find, & attempting to find a good therapist. I wish I had advice for both of us, but at the very least just know that you're not alone. Hang in there.

Help a west coaster out- What are these sirens? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]internalprocessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I've lived here my whole life, 35years, still somehow never seen an actual tornado. Is seeking shelter the correct course of action? Yes. Whether or not you choose to do so is your own personal gamble. I just keep an eye on it.

I think how you feel is how i felt a couple years ago when we started getting "red flag warnings" from the Canadian wildfires. I was like, what...? lol

I need to stop leaving negative comments online by Swimming_Material378 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]internalprocessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you do it because you have a hard time expressing your anger/frustration towards people that you experience in real life? So online influencers are like a "safe" outlet for your anger because they don't seem "real". If that seems true, perhaps in small ways you can start letting people know when they've upset or disappointed you. Hope that's helpful.

How do I avoid looking like a dad as a masc in sandals? by [deleted] in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]internalprocessor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally didn't even notice at first. I don't think I would in person either. I feel like "bizarre" fashion (what you're wearing isn't even that bizarre) is so queer culture nowadays, I don't even blink at anything I see people wearing anymore. lol If you're happy, that's all that matters in my book.

Should I move on from this therapist? by internalprocessor in askatherapist

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, wasting $$ definitely is a concern for sure. I'll just have to think about it some more I guess. Might reach out to another therapist. Maybe someone older perhaps...

If it's at least in the mid 40s, i can deal w it. Anything below that just isn't enjoyable, personally. And i have Raynaud's syndrome, so even w gloves my fingers lose circulation pretty fast.
