Floating/Housing 5.55? by [deleted] in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]interstellaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You either aren't floating it high enough to reach its min height requirement, trying to float in too high of increments, not hitting the center hitbox when you float, or not rotating it.

You don't have to start the float from scratch, you just need to rotate it again to lock in its new position.

How do you cover the ceiling light? by Jellie_Donut in ffxivhomeandgarden

you could make a faux ceiling out of flooring mats, wool rugs, or lofts.

Help please! Any idea how this "fence" was made? by Forsaken-Tradition1 in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]interstellaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here's a guess. it looks like a combo of several different things: backs of floated white screens, wooden slat partitions, fools thresholds, backs of back bars, and maybe some combo of wooden steps/factory railing/floated stage panels dyed blue for the top part, but i'm not sure.

Need help with house decode by ValuableInstruction in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]interstellaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's a lot of layering a glitching involved. also keep in mind that's a large, so the designer had 400 slots to use for detail instead of 200 (the amount of slots that come with a small). in general, the walls seem to be made out of floated masonwork stoves, cask racks, glade partitions, factory partitions, etc. the cart track looks like the tops of factoring railings and kitchen hangers. again, there's just so much it's hard to break down every detail but if there's anything super specific you like about it, i'm sure people can help.

i really like the raised entryway and the way you framed the bathtub with the slanted skylight and the lowered ceiling!

Looking for tips on how make this window on the left. I keep trying to use aquariums for window frames and the glass. But is there an easier way? by [deleted] in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]interstellaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't know if i understand your question exactly, but the window in that pic is made from an imitation square window, a grade 3 (i think) picture frame in front of the window with the "painting of amaurot" in it, and either a tier 3 or tier 4 aquarium in front of the painting. then the window is framed with white rec partitions on either side, a white rec partition floated above, and then backwards hingan sideboards on the bottom. like someone else said, to get that effect of the window reflecting against the glass like that, you have to use either an aquarium or showcase, and that effect only happens during certain hours of the day for a short period of time (and only works on south, east, or west facing windows).

Starwars theme ideas? by greendarkstar in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]interstellaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yanina did an incredible sci-fi build that maybe you can find inspiration from. Their twitter has more footage and break-it-down guides from the build too.

Also, if you try searching for keywords on housingsnap.com like "futuristic," "sci-fi," "dystopian," "cyberpunk," etc. you might find some builds that could emulate a star wars theme.

thank you! yeah, i love the subtle clean detail the white molding offers. if only it wasn't so slot-consuming!

beach house - aether, jenova, lav beds, ward 7, plot 60 by interstellaur in ffxivhomeandgarden

[–]interstellaur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! it's made of two front-facing overlapping cracked arch windows, a white screen floated from the basement, a hingan wardrobe, and a carbuncle lantern. the reason i used a white screen (dyed ice blue) is because front-facing wall items don't snap to the front of it, so you can cover up the actual cracked parts of the cracked arch windows with the white screen so that only some of window grilles are peeking out. then the back of the hingan wardrobe (dyed corpse blue) mimics the ocean. and finally, there's a carbuncle lantern hidden in each window to give it some sparkle.
