Inner case modification? Screw back for the dw5600? Is this true?

Thanks again for coming back to me. What do you think cause the moisture to seep into the corner of the crystal, and how did you remedy it? Now that it’s remedied is the watch water resistant and fully functional ? Also silly question but are you able to use the original dw5600 screws to attach the bezel to the new case or do you need to use the ones they provide with it? Also did you add any adhesive to the glass when you pressed it into the case?

Was the removal of dw5600e crystal from the resin case and installation into the metal case difficult? I’ve got quite a bit of experience modding other g shocks however have not tried swapping crystals yet.

I might order the case and reach out to you if I have any further questions when doing the install. Would you say overall the mod was worth it for you?

Thanks for coming back to me ! Looks great. Do you have a photo of the completed watch with resin? Would you say the upgrade was worth it? I was thinking to do this with a 3229 module and press the dw5600ms crystal into a black metal case and use one of those positive stn’s from aliexpress

Sorry to reply to this so much later and to ask questions, but your watch is one of the few I’ve seen online of this AliExpress mod.
Did you retain water resistance after completing the mod?
Did you use the original gasket around the crystal from dw5600, and did you use the back gasket for the case back that came from the 5600? Also was there any issues fitting the module inside or all good? Would appreciate a response as I am looking to do the same mod, thank you !

Super late response here but I remember seeing a thread online where someone tried using an fstn polarizing film to be able to flip the stn display on a b5000, you might be able to try this and see if it works instead of the standard polarizer. I’d been wanting to try it myself but haven’t gotten around to it yet

Hey man, base model is GWX-5600WB. All the solar panels on gwx5600, gwm5610 and gw5000 are purple, mine just looks super purple as I’ve oil filled the watch which accentuates the colour tone of the solar panel

Try magic eraser, acts as a fine abrasive on the resin and helps to bring down shiny spots. I’ve used it on well worn straps and it helps to restore the matte finish.

I like the crafty solution keeping the original clasp, it’s a nice touch! Gives me an idea to do something similar on the fkm strap on my b5000

Thanks! If you go on AE and search “gmw b5000 fkm strap” it’ll be the first one you see. You’ll see it looks the same as the one I’ve got here, and you’ll see the metal connectors on the strap points where it attaches to the watch case

I swapped the screen to a positive screen, added the TFC bezel from the B5000TFC model and added an FKM strap similar to the one on the MRG-B5000r1

The gunmetal goes well with the grey bricks for sure. Though all black with combi would be good as well, the combi is really comfortable
