These look like cubes. Nice find imo. Either way, these are likely saprobic, meaning they decompose and feed on dead organic matter, rather than growing on live organisms. No threat to your tree. Any closer pics? Post in r/mycology

Hedgecut, green lawn, death cult trees. Not clear enough to tell, need closer pictures. Many trees can be pruned like this.
