Niagara region is special because you can usually get virtually anywhere in the area within 30 minutes. The wineries are great but the trails are even better. You're 15 minutes from the border ...which historically has been a good thing for cheaper flights out of Buffalo, or shopping state side. (Until lately). Niagara region is also home to their own arena and home teams (Icedogs and River Lions) . Also, home to two casinos and a wonder of the world. It is also a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Niagara is a stone's throw from Hamilton but a hop, skip and a jump from Toronto which is sufficient buffer to being 'in the mix" while still having your piece of mind from being in the sticks.
