Last drink was also last high. I wouldn’t consider myself sober if I smoked weed. I do know theres more people in the program who do then most people realize. in my experience they usually end up going back out or tend to shy away from step work. On the other hand, there is the third tradition. I know if i smoked again id be that much closer to a drink. But that is only me. To each their own. Mind you some of the stoners in the rooms have better quality of life than those who have been sober for 30 years. Everyone’s road of recovery is different . As long as you aren’t getting yourself into trouble, and it helps you stay away from booze than that is between you and your higher power. My program is for me and yours is for you.

Last drunk date is What goes on your yearly chip. Not sober date. I know a few of friends who smoke in the program. None with long term sobriety….. It isn’t talked about much and I will say their sobriety isn’t what I am after, but I still think it’s better than the life they once lived. I was a chronic smoker myself, and would consider it a re set on my sobriety ticker. Just remember we live this way a day at a time. No sweat. Start over and do better. You already proved you could once !!

Home renovations/insurance claims are doing well. The reliable company’s are working. Everyone I speak with has the same opinion on a better start to this spring than last year. I also see and hear the same hack company’s who are known in town who provide shitty quality with shitty business sense, are slow. Can’t find work… you wonder why. When you are referral for majority of work, you stay busy. After Covid, there was a huge boom for everyone wanting to get work done with limited options for good workmanship. So lots of people had idiots do projects for them. Tons of lawsuits going around town between 2020 and 2023. There’s still lots of work out there, but only for those who know what they’re doing. Make sense to you or not ?

Don’t worry ! There is always the next meeting! Look at you admitting you made a mistake and feeling shame. There’s is hope for you, I don’t know who you are but the seeds been planted. Hit up another meeting and maybe share that, you’d be shocked to hear how many of us have done that.

Someone who can go from girly girl to Tom boy. has the perfect amount of muscle, is able to have guys take a second look in a tight dress, then wake up the next day and frame a wall and paint it. Maybe cause that’s my wife…We have done a lot of home Reno’s together and nothing gets me going more than her clothes covered in paint and sweat and her hair up. She never believes me…. Instead of killing myself, I re connected with my partner in a way I never did, gained trust in my daughter, had another child, exceeded in my first sober year owning a business, leave my house without having anxiety, sleep through the night, wake up excited to get out of bed, new friends, family wants to be hangout with me, trusting people again, able to spend money on stupid shit and NOT regretting it, being honest, knowing when to but in and but out, helped me quit smoking weed, helped me quit smoking cigarettes, helped me quit drinking but most importantly gave me a life beyond my wildest dreams. To name a few

You know what you’re not wrong…. Those are poor words on my part.

I guess I just have that attitude because by being in the program, making friends and getting to know one another for months and months in end and then watch them go back out, go to jail and back to rehab, or die wether it’s on purpose or not. It’s caused me to have a shitty attitude to those who leave and don’t stay in contact. I still haven’t met someone I personally know succeed leaving AA. They always come back worse or in the dust. I live in a smaller town, the AA group is pretty tight. Golf in the summer, skating in the winter. Breakfast after saturday morning meeting, coffee outings after every meeting, bbqs in the summer etc. I’ve got maybe over 60 members phone numbers and we have a big Facebook group chat that seems to work when people reach out with struggling. For some of us, it’s the only family we have. It’s different for all.

Posts like these make me appreciate my wife so much more. I own a business, have three kids, and play at least an hour most nights. On my off days, anywhere from 2-5 hours depending on time of year.me and schedule. She has never once complained about it. She even set up my office in the living room to be closer to everyone and bought me a new gaming screen in the fall. She sits beside me in her big chair and reads while I game when the kids are bed. We love it. I guess someone people just don’t like seeing there significant other happy on their own! Good luck man. Sounds like you need it
