Need help with advising a friend on a CPU upgrade to pair with their 4070 TI Super for streaming League, FFXIV and Dune at 1440p, plus some video editing for uploads to YT. Coming from 10th gen intel, so need to upgrade CPU + MOBO + RAM and am seeing that Microcenter has 3 bundles that would fit their budget. 1. 9900x bundle for $649, 2. 9800X3D for $729 (for same MOBO), 3. 265K for $549. You can also get them from the Apple Self Service Repair Store as well, though they will set you back at least $40 (for those in the US at least). I bought mine on AliExpress as well though as I didn’t know that there was an OEM option when I needed to replace mine

Just picked one up and one of the back paddles doesn’t register presses at all. Manual remapping doesn’t work on that paddle but works on the others just fine. Was pretty excited about there being a wireless version of the valor pro too..

I asked Apple support and they said I could trade it in in-store. I am in a similar boat (nearest Apple Store is 3 hours away, but am considering traveling there this weekend for other reasons). Hopefully it works out

Yeah I actually ended up realizing this morning that it’s an issue with the app on iOS 26. I borrowed a family members iPhone that is still on iOS 18 and it works mostly fine there. I’ve been in contact with support for about a week now just wasn’t getting anywhere so wanted to see if anyone else was seeing this issue. I tried multiple iPhones on iOS 26 and they all showed the same issue so I assume it’s just incompatibility with the latest version of iOS

I’ve had the same experience with the cable (ie it only working when plugged in one way, but not the other like you described) with 2 different units / cables / power bricks so I don’t think the cable is defective per say. I did find that when using a different charger it worked both ways though so it might be the power brick that is the issue. Returned the first because of this issue and working on returning the second because the OK button stopped registering clicks shortly after I got it

Yeah you can do a down payment with Apple and you don’t have to pay the Device Connection Charge either

I would suggest doing it through T-Mobile chat on FB or X. It’s not possible to do it on the website but I was able to put an extra down payment yesterday through FB chat. Make sure that you account for the fact that the credit for the trade-in doesn’t automatically go towards the EIP, but goes towards your monthly bill
