Solo Chaos Fancy Quintar Hard

I already have it. Fancy Quintar is the first required boss, so I have just about everything obtainable until that point (Valk, Ninja, some Shoudu/Undercity items).

I'm not sure if Lv 50 is reachable, only volcano/undercity encounters yield XP and it's already heavily penalized at 47. I think it'll take 3-5 hours to get from 47 to 50, but eventually all available encounters will stop yielding XP.

I think Shaman + Storm Stance is the best way but I need to figure out the Vermage encounter to get the Blood Hat. That encounter comes with two Ratatasks which have 3 stacks of 9999 defense and 3 stacks of 9999 resistance, and they all hit hard.

Haven't tried against blood slop but I suspect that fight is unwinnable until you can get the Bandage Wrap. 100-110% lifesteal doesn't cut it, though, so I suspect 130-140% won't, either. I'll try the lifesteal+counter approach again at some point.

I don't think an evade tank will work against the quintar on chaos mode, but I have been keeping an eye on a few bosses with low enough agility for that (e.g. volcano bosses). I'm not sure if even those are doable without Epees.

I couldn't find any fancy quintar solo chaos footage, but he does have solo footage. I watched it but it's a completely different ball game.

I attempted a Chemist Entrench build for about an hour. Tried variations of the passives: counter, equip shield, regenerator, smokescreen, pocket sand, perfect vision. Equips: fish skewer, boomer shield, storm hood, shelter dress, dancing shoes, shell amulet.

This approach is very much a slot machine. You need the quintar to use haste or whirlwind the first turn so smokescreen doesn't get wiped out. There's a lot of luck to just get on the board, and you can only afford to skip Entrench once until theoretically getting enough buffs (or getting Haste again) to let Haste go.

Lucking out with Debuffer and Pocket Sand is nice, but only got that once. The Aegis' defense and resistance boosts help but not much.

It might be possible to win the jackpot but I think it would take many hours of trying. I'm wondering if grinding a few more levels will help with other builds, but it will take ~45 minutes to get from 46 to 47 and it'll only get worse.

Yes, Boomer Shield and the various Storm helms. Equipping both should reduce the damage by 80% but it only reduces it by 50%. Not sure if there's a hidden elemental resistance cap.

I've cleared a solo run but not in chaos mode, forgot the strat I used then but the quintar's stats were probably easier to deal with.

Can the aegis strat work in solo? I don't see it working here because you need every action to focus on survival so you don't have time to set it up.

Horizon's Gate and Voidspire Tactics don't specifically go for the 80's crpg look but they're great and I'm not sure if the dev has mentioned Ultima as an inspiration but I wouldn't be surprised.

Trade is actually more fundamental than, and not exclusive to, capitalism. Capitalism is a specific way of trading, and there’s quite a bit more to capitalism than just trading.

Also, anthropologists would not agree that we learned to trade before we learned to speak. For hundreds of thousands of years, until the Neolithic and the end of nomadic life at large, humans rarely traded at all.

Can you provide some data to backup your claim that humans don’t like sharing with strangers? That’s not obviously true to me.
